Trouble Starting

So lastnight, and this morning my X has been struggling to start. She just refuses to turn over untill you ram the gas while truning the key.... my dad thinks its the fuel filter/sparkplugs & wires
You guys oppinion?

Check for codes, that might help narrow down the problem

could be a number of causes,,can ya give some more info,,how does she act after ya get her fired up,and after ya get her going,does she start good the rest of the day,

she revs up real high one time once she turns over..but thats cause i'm hammering the gas, but once i get her running she's fine for the rest of the day. its just that first start

could it be a low charge in the battery, and when you push the gas since you have a cable throttle it opens and decreases engine vacuum and makes it easier to crank over
