Tuning Issue--look inside

Well, the graph sure is quite a bit steeper with the Mac intake--geez leweez--

if i understand this correctly-each box (moving to the right) represents a unit of time--

so--that is a 30% improvement.

it took the stock air cleaner 6 time slots to shift-whereas the Mac only took 4--

I wonder if it wasn't a mechanical "bottleneck" somewhere that didn't appear in stock form but now that some mods have been put on it has finally shown its head.

Your truck has a pretty basic tune. It is Naturally Aspirated and it is an Explorer with only a few basic mods. Not very hard to whip a tune up for it. I would find it highly unlikely that this would be a problem related to the tune itself. The cause of your problem lies elsewhere.

Yeah it's still there, just look at the rpm curve, it still flat lines, it's even worse with the stock intake. you can definetly see that the mac intake helps though.

I think the problem has always been there, it just feels more pronounced with all of the mods. I don't think it's fuel injectors, fuel filter, etc, because I think it would get worse in the higher rpm's, not just have trouble at the one spot. I just hope we can figure it out, it shouldn't feel like I"m hitting a power adder after I get past that point.

I agree, I never thought it was a problem with tuning, I felt it long before, I got the tuner, I was just hoping it could be fixed with tuning.

Yeah, but fixing it with a tune is a band-aid and don't think it can be fixed all the way like this. Be careful blocking the simple things out because you don't think it’s that. I would start with the simplest things first, then work to the harder ones. Simple things are usually cheap and you'll be surprised.

Look up "Bog" on the net and see what you come up with....

This is where a second vehicle is handy to swap parts from.
