Hi guys, new to posting but have been on here for years maintaining my 2002 4.0.
I have intermittent overheating issues. The truck will run hot, then back to normal whether or not I am running the AC or heater, driving uphill or coasting or anything else I can determine. Checked under the hood and saw water coming from the top of what i am assuming is the thermostat housing.
Is this indicative of the housing being cracked or could it be the thermostat/gasket. Am I better off replacing the water pump to be on the safe side?
Also, if I go the water pump route do I need to remove the fan clutch?
Thanks!
