What did you do this weekend? Participation required

I decided that I can't stand the stupid seat belt reminder chime going off every 30 seconds when I don't put my seat belt on. I always wear it while driving, but if I'm moving cars around in my driveway or just going to the mail box (a 1/2 mile round trip) I don't. I know there's a way to turn it off, so I looked it up in the owner's manual. What a procedure!

"Hop on your left foot, while you stick your left thumb in your right ear, while whistling Yankee Doodle for 7 seconds, then..." (actually far more complicated than that).

I finally got it to turn off, but it took me three try's. Why did Ford make this so hard to do? And to think I once tried (and thankfully failed) to turn this option on when I first bought my EB.

ROFL, damn you're funny koda! Now try programming PATS keys, keyless remotes, or bed window reinitialization. ;)

I scored a set of pristine OE '01 ST tail lights for $20.50 on eBay to replace my scratched, chipped tail lights.

Installed a Motorcraft fuel filter- 37k over due (last changed approximately 67k miles ago). Have noticed real bad mpg since before my new tires were installed, I actually thought the new fan clutch would of changed that. Maybe it did to a degree as it was bad.

Last time I payed the dealer to install the filter I already bought- I know wasted $ but that was before I knew of this site or how to do my own work for that matter. I bought the scissor disconnect tool which said ford on the front which was also not the right 1 I needed. It only had the 3/8 up to 3/4 but not the 5/16 so I had to go back for the other scissor which had 3/8 and 5/16 only but exactly what I needed. I pulled fuse 23 while running, happened to be on empty. I pushed in/out all 3 lines to make sure it wasn't seized or stuck, it didn't take to long but I did take a gas bath (left over in the filter drained on me). What worked for me was put tool on line and push the hose in towards the filter then push the tool into the hose and it came off just as easy. Poured in techron fuel (only bought it cause it was on sale and I had a 5$ of 25 coupon). Filled the tank up and marked my mileage

Hopefully I can start getting better mpg, I was at like 12-13 which I think is horrible. The bogger tires only drop it by less than a gallon so that's the 13 range

I wish my fuel filter change went as easy as yours. I spent about 4hrs on mine and went through my entire 4 letter word vocabulary a few times over.

That does seem pretty low. Even as tall as mine is and with 35s, I'm still around 15mpg give or take 1 depending on how much highway there is.

Hello everyone, well I didn't get anything I wanted to do this weekend done like I wanted, I am little disappointed but there is always tomorrow. After Church my wife wanted to goto the mall to get her jewelry cleaned and check out then we proceeded to goto Wal-Mart so I could get some prescription which weren't ready. We just went home, around 3 p.m. I had laid down to to take a nap and woke up @ 9 p.m. My day is shot but I suppose I needed the rest. On a positive note, I do feel little better since Friday after my procedure, I don't feel near as dizzy and my legs doesn't feel like it is being weighted down. I am walking little more around my house with out using my cane. This is a PLUS!!!!!!!!

I added a switch to turn my fuel pump off so I can spin my engine to get oil pressure up before starting. It takes about 8 seconds for the gauge to indicate pressure. I did this as a temporary measure until I install a pre-oiler. Crude, but effective. No chain noise at startup and no engine flare.

can't you do the same by flooring the gas pedal while cranking?

I installed a 23" led light bar in my grille this weekend, and had a couple pieces of metal dug out of my eye.

Went to the Goodguys Southwest Nationals on Saturday. 3000 cars on display:eek:

I don't know if that would work. I would think the engine would still start, but IDK. Anyway, it was easy enough to add a toggle switch.

I think the trick- seen mentioned somewhere here, is to push the hose in before inserting the disconnect. I have seen the hassle of this many have and was expecting the worst. See, I'm wondering if something else is going on with my low mpg.

I tried pulling the line in towards the filter. Something was funky with it. I ended up breaking down and took it to a local place and asked if they'd be willing to let me take the 2 lines I could off if they could get the 3rd off. Even the guy there struggled for about 20min on just that line. Thankfully they were great guys and didn't charge me for the trouble.

Low mileage could be caused by so many things, it's hard to tell. Plugs, coils, injectors, egr valve, dirty MAF or throttle body, and the list goes on sadly.

Oh man! I remember that was a big day when my trucks hit 100. Now that's far in the rearview lol.

Brakes and Bushings

Did new front pads, rear shoes and hardware, and the much needed replacement of my upper control arm bushings. Maybe do my AAL and TT this weekend. But then I have to buy tires... Oh darn.

I've driven my '02 right at 20,000 miles in the 35 months I've owned it, so I've got about 2 1/2 years til 100,000. That day won't be as cool as when my '74 Ranchero turned 77,777.7 exactly at the Indiana 7 mile marker on the way to the Street Machine Nationals in Indy in 1977. Missed the 7/7/77 date by a couple of weeks.

Happy thanksgiving FAM! You all have helped teach me and save $$. Thank you

Could be plugs- they have abouts 70k and I don't even know what kind. it was done before I read how picky the truck is on plugs. I changed the wires at the same time.

As far as I know the coils are original. I'll have to look into that and how to check the egr valve and injectors.

I think I can rule out the dirty maf and throttle body- cleaned those under 5-10k ago along with the iac to fix my rough idle.

That's pretty cool! Lots of lucky 7s haha.

I bought my F350 with 84 on the clock. 2 years later it rolled over 125k. Lots of miles in the last couple years considering I split driving between it and the sport Trac.
