it's amazing what these v6s will snort up when you let them rip!

But seriously, this stuff happens. When i was in italy 20years ago, they had a serious (!) stray cat problem in the city i was staying. They were crawling in all over the parked cars. And when people would start their cars im the morning, you would sometimes hear bones cracking and exhausts spitting cat-salad. It was horrible, surreal and just ridiculous. I havent seen something like this again in my life. Just had to share that traumatic experienceit's amazing what these v6s will snort up when you let them rip!
Wow, yeah that would suck. You hear about that every so often around here but nothing like that. But seriously, this stuff happens. I've now had several of these engines apart over the years. Some for various repairs and some for curiosity. Each and every one still had all the cross hatching in the cylinders. My machines range from 70k to 300k in mileage.Fixed the power windows, passed smog, since the computer recap my gas mileage is back at brand new Window sticker (18city, 23hwy, 21avg), and the only thing left that's actually broken at this point is my A/C. Going to check the wear indicator on the digits as well....a bit curious if there's a third since I know I'm at least at 310K, and could possibly be at 410K since I'm not sure but I might have forgotten an Odometer roll back there somewhere.
Crazy this thing is nearly 30 and still within spec like that.
I got mine dirty last weekend.I finally washed the dirt off mine from a month ago
I like that filter set up, it's compact and reminds me of the auxiliary trans filter on forklifts I've worked on. Where did you get that?I got mine dirty last weekend.
I Installed a bigger transmission cooler and a external filter today after getting back last weekend wheeling and camping.
The transmission got hotter than I liked when climbing.
It puked some fluid out as we were up at 6000+ elevation at 102° F.
The transmission didn't like that.
Here some pics of the upgrades.

Your lucky to get that lock pin out in one pieceOver the last few days. I put a new Lsd clutch pack in.
When I was out wheeling a noticeable clunking from the rear was audible.
After checking the in and out play of the axles, I figure it was time to dig in the rear end and replace the clutches.
The only trouble I had was the pin bolt head rounded off while trying to take it out.
I sharpened the point on my air chisel and was able to loosen it and get it out.
2 of the clutch fiber discs was down to bare metal.
Fairly easy job. Just messy and the play is gone.

Update: DUH...already knew the switch getting power BUT no window motion, has to be the window motor? Cause all the others work although slowly. Any hints on lubricating the others so their motors don't fail? Or should I count on replacing all the window motors as they've been used since '98?I put a large plastic bag over the driver's side window before it rains (hopefully) tonight!...time to get a window up/down switch. Fuse and circuit good as the dome light flickers when I press it...as all the other window switches. Gotta do it quick before old Wonder Wagon turns from green to blushing red....
