FFFFFFUUUUUUUU!!!!!!
i need a new y-pipe.
had a loud knock close to coming home today, seemed to lose quite a bit of power.
came home and the cat was resting on the crossmember and my tailpipe was way over to the driveshaft. so i let it cool off for a bit.

just went out and looked, my y-pipes flange rusted right off the y-pipe, still attached to the cat.
i dont even know what model number jba's i have. unless theyre all the same, just different coatings.
i really cant afford to buy a new y-pipe....... (or even fix this one)

Remind me not to mess with you, ever.

P.S. - MY SINCEREST APOLOGIES again for not being able to stop by this past weekend :( I'm so whipped by the GF.

you better apologize, youve seen what i can rip apart with my hands

me shearing whatever kind of metal exhaust is made of apart > brandons valve cover overtightening strength

lol

In reply to your SOA issue....
Just look to see if the perches are welded directly over the factory ones. Even take a measurement from the outside of one perch to the flange at the end of the axle tube and compare the two sides. They should both me the same distance. They don't have to be exactly dead on. But I would say...within 1/8th of an inch or so. I know when I welded mine that I wasn't dead on, but I was pretty damn close and it's been fine for 2 years. Doesn't pull and aligns perfectly evert time.

Yea don't think that's the prob

yea im sure the perches are fine. its either: unbalambed maybe or off center due to the ubolts not tight against the perch/spring(1" gap)

im gonna try and see if my y-pipe can be fixed or not. if not ill have to get a new one.

thought you said those weird shaped flanges for the cat were hard to fine jd!! ive got 2 loose ones now!!! lol

That gap is not the problem there is that stud thro them.u bolts just hold pressure. If anything is the prob its not using the first hole

i see what you mean. the spring holds it in place, ubolts and plates just keep that from separating.
i doubt its the extra hole to push the axle forward, he had no issues.
maybe the wheels arent on all the way? the thread only goes 3/4s through the lugnut. it was also very difficult to take the wheels off to fix the brakes. maybe theres so much rust on the hub thing in the middle the wheels arent seated all the way making them wiggle?

other note, finally goo goneing the adhesive from the stock pinstriping. and im removing the rubber trim along the doors on the bottom.
prepping for a nice washing and clay bar treatment

good luck with.the molding!!i can find anything to take the goo off the truck.heat gun works but not real well, still leaves goo on it!!

well i read fishing line works to take the stuff off. but i just used my superman strength and ripped it off. now i just need to get the glue off.
should be easy for you, just sand/grind the crap off since your gonna paint anyway lol

i had to just rip mine off too!!i don't want it to look like **** till i paint tho!!

That glue stuff was a ***** to gett off mine when I took the molding off. I wasnt concerned with the looks really so I just used a angle grinder with a flap wheel. lol

was you able to just get the ypipe? it should come.ceramic coated.i wouldn't do anything to it if you buy it new.

havent ordered it yet. will do it today!
the piece that goes to the drivers side wasnt rusted and looked bare metal to me..

i mean id hate to get it then have to get it coated. i guess i could always take it off later and do it if needed. but i wanted to send it to turdle. that way youd want to steal my y-pipe too! lol

coat it and bake it yourself. all of it should come coated for the price of those things!!naww im good with my cheap home ceramic coated, wrapped pipes!!;p

sounds good, ill let you coat them for me then. :p

trim removal update. (i need some pics): still no 3m wheel, but i think i may need to put on bedliner. theres paint missing(grey primer color) around the edges of where the trim was. the backside of the trim is nasty! looks really dirty or moldy!
