Yes!! Soon to tune!!!!

The first gen Lightning meters were 80MM. I don't believe that would be enough for Jon. I am very interested to get this remote tuning started. I am also interested to see how his truck will run. Once tuned, Jon can safely go wot. One thing about it, getting this truck to idle the way I want it to will be a definate challenge but I am up to the task. If I can get a 4.6L with stage 3 cams to idle smooth this should be a little easier. We will go into the remote tuning details in another thread at which time Jakee will probably chime in. He is also setup to remote tune but I believe his other priorities are keeping him from being able to at this moment.

You're right. Unfortanatly, I haven't been able to work much on the truck. In fact, I still haven't installed the wideband. I think once you and Jon start the thread, I'll see if I can get something going. Two remotes in one thread may be good info. Just don't hold your breath for me. I'm way swamped with other issues.

I can't beleave i'm gonna be the first one to say it.... ITS ABOUT TIME!

So you think you miss AWD, can't you launch in 4WD?
BTW i think i've heard of people stuffing 285-295s on there, maybe even 305s?

Maybe with a different offset wheel, but mine Barely touch the inner fender at times--there is a faint line on the inner fender back wall-where the inside of the rear tire touches-on each side it is equal
It probably happens during the time my mother in law is in the back seat-:D

Dude what kind of offset are you running? i'm running +5 on my craigers and i still got about 3 inchs on 275s. the factory had +14mm i beleave. Hmm my 20s had +20 and i never rubbed with 275s

Oh and btw wow your mother in law  ..... must mbe huge cause i hauled my jet ski and 6 people out to the lake and yeah got no marks

Then they would stick out--I don't like that.

look at the pics-my tires are even with fenders and sometimes touch on the inside--I'm at a loss how wider tires could fit. My wheels are 23mm offset I believe. Regular everyday ol' cobra reps--17x9

So that's a wide band O2 sensor, for the tuning? Those take a normal O2 bung yes? I will probably be making new cat pipes in the next 10,000 miles, so five bungs would be just as easy to do as four. How much is that, the good kind? I've got some cheap crap that should be tossed from years ago.

Don,
Yes sir, the wideband bung is the same as the regular O2 bung (18mm). If anyone needs any I do sell them.

um jt a grinder to that fender lip is how us off roaders clear wider tires...if thats all thats keeping you get the grinder out!

I personally think JTsmith is faster than he thinks.

The rear suspension and tires move side to side a whole lot more than people think. You need to have 2-3 inches of inner space to the inner body for the tires. If you can figure out how to get the leaf springs from deflecting sideways in a turn, you could add a couple of inches in width to each tire.

The fifth shock and eye bushings probably have a little to do with that.

Yes Don, you are correct I believe. I do still have my fifth shock in place, but here is the thing. I cannot get a finger between my tire and inner wall, but that should still be enough clearance if the side to side movement was stiffened.
In front, I have 1/8" max between the tire and upper ball joint. If a ball joint even starts to go I'll have a line on the tire--

hmmmm, seems to have something to do with my truck always wanting to buck to the right at the rear during a launch--
I always have to correct a bit with steering to the right. That is a lot of wasted energy going down the drain--hrrrmpfh it always something--

ok
Back to tuning.

I have a ton of space in my rear fenders, and my first 255/60/17's did rub a hair. I like to go into interstate offramps hard, that is when the back end is moving so much.

Ok what the heck? i got 275/60/16s and 2.5 lowered front and back and i fling the rear end around like no other and take interstate ramps at like 50 on the huge curves and never rub

I'm not lying--in fact it is quite a rub--
I do have only 1/2" bumpstops in the rear--maybe that is the difference--

I'm not worried though-it's coming back up in a bit.

Now, lets get back on topic please!
