I'm working on the ZAPV again. This time is has a odd problem.

If you are in drive and moving, then touch the brakes the front pass brake locks up.

If you put it in reverse it unlocks, and you can drive again.

If you try to drive with the brake locked up the front pass tire will shudder, pop, the vehicle will move about a foot, then lock up again.

I'm tearing into it tomorrow, but if anyone has an idea what it could be it would save me a bunch of trouble shooting.

Brakes are only a few months old.

I'm starting to think it's two separate problems that started at the same time.

I guess I am just plain stupid, or senile. What the hell is ZAPV? First thing I would do is pull the R/F brake caliper and lube anything that moves, slides, bolts, what ever the caliper slidez on.

I cannot figure out what ZAPV is either, I am only 20... Can't wait till he explains it and i feel stupid though. locking up is odd, but like what yavapaires said, grease everything up first... I really hope it isn't a malfunctioning ABS unit though.

This is a ZAPV

Anyway I found the problem. The caliper bolt had fallen out. It would let the vehicle run fine in reverse, and lock when it was in drive.

Simple $2 dollar fix.
