Zhanx's SAS - HP Dana 44 on 37's thread

Is that axle installed? Thats a pretty harsh angle on that diff...

In that pic, no. I was just mocking things up and moving things around in that particular pic. The pinion is pointed down a bit there but with everything in place, the pinion comes out level. The driveshaft is still pretty steep at 20 degrees but it's been holding up so far. One of these days i'll order up a hi-angle driveshaft:rolleyes:

And now back to our program...sorry zhanx:D

LOL some1 strap down JimmyT, he's always hatin on people.

ok fixed it Jimmy you happy now?

Good gravy, how in the world did you get that sucker in there. Hope you weren't the only one loading/unloading!

A loaded D44 can be handled by one person - in about 2 hours and one side at a time :D
The larger axles (60 front, 14b) are impossible tho.

I can attest to this, when we loaded my d60 front it took three of us. it was a ***** to load into my ranger.

Well its Home. Note to anyone else getting a new front axle.. use a truck not the roof. top about top heavy and very bad on curves and bumps... never never again. Sometime this coming week it will be dropped out to get sand blasted and hot-tanked. If i get the time. i do have to work sometime last week i think <- 1000THS POST !!!!!

one thing i noticed... no one commeted on the axe or the fire extingisher..

I thought we were focusing on the axle :D I had a fire ext. in the same place, good place for the axe, kind of out of the way.

150 for new front brakes and the "buying" begins....

One for each Side

and some nice pads

also the axle has 3.50 gears stock.. anyone need these? i need an new carrier to run 4.56's (waitin just waitin for my brother in law to come though then i'll have all the power i need to turn 37's with these)

also i need a good fan powered tranny cooler. i will be losing my raditor in the fall hopefull to a custom one that wont have a tranny filter.

Yes the buying begins. I think i dropped about 300 bucks for all new parts for my 44, and i mean all new parts!

I donated my stock carrier and gears to the scrap yard :D

You dont have to change carriers if you havent already bought gears. You can get a set of thick 4 series gears for the 3 series carrier.

4:56 isnt very low considering you're gonna run 37's. Do you have other plans or did i miss something?
