OK, I have searched, read the manual, searched some more, searched on truck forums but I can't find if it is possible to extend the radio play time on a vehicle with push button starting on a 16 XLT. I know that after it shuts off you can restart it but I would like to keep it playing without having to restart it along with it playing with the doors open which automatically shut it off.

So is there some magic that I can do to get it to work this way or am I stuck with the factory settings?

Thanks

There is no need to use the Accessory position. The radio can be turned ON by simply pressing the radio button. It is called "Audio Extended Play."
The radio is one of the items that is always powered. Just like the buttons on the visor.

Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to figure out.

The car really does need a true accessory mode, however. Drives me crazy to have to turn the radio back on after 10 minutes. I do sit on with the radio a lot.

Maybe I just need to drive more. :D

The radio only turns off after 10 minutes if you use the accessory mode because that is when the battery saver mode kicks in. It will stay on much longer if you just leave the ignition in the OFF position and turn the radio on using the radio control.

What you say is correct, but is implemented poorly.

If I turn the ignition off (aka I've reached my destination), I still have to open the door and close it again to prevent the battery saver relay from engaging in 10 minutes' time. Continuous operation should be more seamless.

This is very interesting i need to tried ot today
