Hi! First time to post and would like to share how I did my hood lettering's. I am thinking of painting it black to match my grills instead of the chrome color now. let me know your thoughts! Cheers!

Here are the pics

Here is also a photo of the vinyl sticker I installed between the 2nd row passenger window and the 3rd row passenger window to have that uniform surround black trimming on the windows.

WOW
Letters are perfect. How did you align them?
I like the sticker too. Now, Explorer has floating roof like Range Rover.

Those look terrible, but if you insist, they should be readily available once the Explorer Sport hits the market. It has it stock.

Well that’s quite mean. I sort of like how everyone’s is a little different. Makes the car seem a little different and stylish to everyones personal taste.

Oh yeah, well you're ugly :) See, nobody cares about my opinion either!

Haha, sorry if that came off a bit harsh. I'll be more careful next time.

LOL, it happens, and welcome to the Forum :D

LOL deewan, you crack me up!

I probably wouldn’t of got the letters if everyone’s was the same. That would be really really boring.

Not really that big of a deal and I get it why not just get it through Ford if they are making them… I sure would! At the time I wanted the letters the Ford Explorer Sport didn’t even exist (as I knew).

Gentlemen, as promised...

The OEM letters are finally available on online. You are looking for part number #42528L

Here is a direct link to purchase from ford directly. Price is $114.82 (steep for some dinky letters if you ask me) but yes it is a custom graphic and thats why no one can find the exact "font"

God Speed. let us know who orders first and how it goes. Pics of course too.

I ordered them from same seller and when I got them I realized they are used :(

How did you polish them and clean old adhesive and what kind if adhesive you used?

Thanks in advance

Hi Ibn, Yes they are used (removed from the old explorers), $12 including shipping right? Fortunately mine was fine when I received it.

1.Soaked the letters in WD40 (which you can buy in your local hypermarket)overnight to make it easier to remove the used adhesive.
2. Used metal polish to polish them. (you can maybe use G27 which is also available in your local hypermarket)
3. For the adhesive I used "Bison" double adhesive or you could use the 3M which again (hahaha) available in your local hypermarket.

Hope this helps, will wait for photos of your work soon! Cheers!

I'm guessing Ford made the price that high are to discourage people like us from buying them and confusing people on what Explorers are Sport, and which are not.

1. Painted the letters in black to make it match my grill,(also now showing the Ford logo)
2. Installed black side vents with matching carbon fiber
3. Installed black vinyl on "face side" of the door handles.
