What did you do to your 5th Gen?

Throw a ported upper and lower intake and a 73MM tbody on it now.

Made BIG gains for me. I ran a 6.63 0-60. A stock sport runs 6.4.

AEM Dry flow air filter: https://amzn.to/2ZMbsUq
Tuned with HP tuners: https://amzn.to/2QkBN8R
Do you have to make any modifications to the TB, or straight bolt on?

This is a good question. I had the recall done on my car. Wondering if i should go with the Steedas or just do the sway bar

I am wondering the same thing.. Should I just purchase the Steeda tow links or go in for the recall?

Go in for the recall then purchase the steeda parts.

Agree. A recall is for a safety related issue. Installing the Steeda parts won't make that go away and it will stay on your Explorer's 'record' as outstanding.

I already have the recall done. The question is whether the parts that Ford replaced are "upgraded" and if there would still be a benefit to go with Steeda parts.

Exactly. The forged toe links from ford are obviously stronger than the originals to address breakage.
But are the Steeda links stronger or provide any other benefit?

Back to the originally scheduled program...
At local shop to have synthetics put in PTU and trans.
on Friday- Class III hitch install.

I think I'll just take a look under there. If they look scrawny, I'll consider changing them. Otherwise I think it would be worth the $200 for just the sway bar

Drawtite Class III hitch installed this morning!

Guys, I did a thing.. After a couple years of searching, I cannot for the life of me find anyone who has done this. I am sure now that I am posting it, they will show up! I purchased the Amerihood S-Type functional air scoop hood, and I am obsessed with it. I still need to get it painted but most shops are still a bit high on the quotes due to lack of work.. However, the fit is great, quality is great the look is even better.

I don't recall seeing that done before but there is a member who added side vents to the front fender vents. Adding Fender Vents

I like it, can’t wait to see it painted. Full function?? I would like to see the underside.

Finally got around to installing the kicker 2 1/2” in the center dash. A little mod on the speaker mount to get it flush with the grill and added the thick 2-sided tape to insure no rattles. I am very pleased with sound. Sone day I may swap out the 3rd row speakers with the same kickers, since those are the only stock ones left.

yup, full function! I will try to take a pic tonight. The scoop flows right over the intake.

I didnt get a chance to take an actual photo but, here is the photo from Amerihood. That opening lines up right over my intake.

Man I have been looking at that hood for years, but as you said, nobody has done it and I was leary about trying it out. Can you give some details? I love it and wouldn't mind trying it. How much heavier is it? How was fitment? How are the lines when they meet the body of the car? Did you have to do a lot of adjusting? Got any other pics from other angles?
