01 sport - 4.0 SOHC STS turbo charged (Project complete)

I haven't purchase yet but I'm thinking 295 45 18 for the rear and 255 50 18 for the front.

I'll know for sure when I get the rims on there for a test.

The wheels are 18x9 with a 5.95" backspace (+24mm offset) and 18x10 with a 6.42" backspace (+22mm offset). The lug pattern is 5x4.5 (114.3mm).#

The wheels arrived today. I'll test fit em later this week and let everyone know if they work or not.

The wheels arrived today. I'm going to get off the computer to test fit them RIGHT NOW and let everyone know if they work or not. Pictures are coming up!!!

I fixed it for you:D

Can't, I'm baby sitting my little girl. Mom is going out of town but friday is the day. ;)

I would be worried about the u-joints, the rear axle shouldn't have any trouble holding the power.

Your overconfident, you'll gain 2 tenths at best by removing the weight.

Correct! The rear will hold more power than we are making, why not run at regular weight?

Jake-My truck was full weight (as daily driven) when I ran the 8.27. Nothing was removed to fudge #'s. The only addition was slicks. Oh for informational purposes my tire size I have ran for almost 4 years is 255/55-18. These are only .3" diameter difference which makes the speedo difference not noticable. At 65 I am actually going 65.4 per GPS.-j

Let's start guessing my run time.

The first run will be in the 14's. After that, I'll know how sticky the track is and might be able to get to 13.5. I don't think I'll see lower than that cuss I stil have the stock wheels. This will be at 8 LBS of boost and the tune I did for it. It may blow up.

Hey James -

1) I'll be running full weight plus the added dynomat.
2) Stock tires.
3) No Meth
4) Hot Texas weather

Come on guys, guess some times. I'm interested in who will be the closest to what I actually run

I think that you'll be in the high 13's, or low 14's depending on how things are.

13.75 at 101mph:) I think you will be fine as long as you don't get greedy. Give it plenty of time to cool down and be safe. I will be going next week for sure because I will be better prepared. Good luck and let us know ASAP what you run.

The new front wheels don't quite fit. The hub centric part of the wheel has two bore steps. The first bore (the largest and closest to the rotor) is good; however, the second bore step doesn't slide over the smaller step on the rotor. It's very close and I can make this work with a little machine work. There won't be any spacers needed either.

Still need to test fit the back.

Sucks to hear. Hope you get them worked out and fitting good. I have a date with Goodyear to get my rims balanced and put on at 3pm :D I will send you a link to my page when I take some pics. Are you going to the dragstrip tonight? If so, make sure you get a vid so we can watch.

Yes, I'm all set-up to go. I'm stilling running the stock rims and tires and I've done some testing. Don't think I'll get a good time this time because I'm still spinning like crazy. In other words, I'll have to feather it for the first 30 feet or so.

The good news is the back wheels (the bigger 10" rims) fit perfect! It's just the front that I'll have to modify just a little. Even so, It'll work out. I'm already planning a set of "light" rims and tires for the track. A buddy I'm going with tonight is going to sell em to me cheap so I'll take advantage. The new wheels and tires will be for the street only.

Wish me luck....I was just playing around in front of my house showing off to my bud and almost ditched the truck. ;)

The best time without redlighting was a 13.5

I'll post the timeslips up soon and a bud is doing the videos.

My very first run was a 13.65 at 101

All three runs I trapped at 101 but the times were coming down every time I ran. The last run I redlighted and ran a 13.4

This was full weight and running around 9lbs

I was on the money with the trap speed! Glad to hear you didn't blow it up!!! Now I need to go out next week and handle my business:D I wish I could say I have a mid-13 second Explorer too! Instead I will stick with low 15's:( Once again, congrats on your time and you should be pretty damn happy!!!

Yes, I'm happy with the results. It's amazing how many people you freak out when doing this in an explorer.

On the video where I redlighted, I was racing a supped up s10. That guy couldn't catch me and I got some weird looks from him in the pit. hehehe

Where's the video??????????????????? You have a sleeper for sure, a dead giveaway will be your new wheel setup:) The nights young, get some burnout vids and all. I call BS on the ditch dive until I see it:D

Forgot to ask, how well did you hookup at the track and what was your best 60'?

Here's the first time slip. I'm in the right lane.

Man, the track was prepped great. I had no problem hooking up with the crappy old street tires.

I'm trying to post the time slip but I can't seem to get this to work. Can you see it or do you see an X?
