A proportional brake controller, wiring, and transmission cooler... My wife's checks don't pay the bills, so that's pretty much the play money 1x a month.
What leafs would you recommend?

if possible id look into welding the hitch, but if its not an option, totally get it. imo where the hitch gets bolted is a meh spot. not the worst, but could be a tiny bit better. for leaves really any one of the 4 door ones. SD truck iirc has them, pretty much any of those places imo. as long as they are the 4 door multi leaf springs imo should be good.

Physically, the car will move the weight. The issue you run into is the trailer is heavier than the ass end of the car. Think of it like a dogs tail gaining weight and wagging the dog when it moves. Weight distribution helps but not a cure when overloading a car. I wouldn't want to be in that car going down a hill with curves. I get that you live in Florida but a trailer is mobile, so you could go anywhere with it. Another thing, people tend to estimate the weight of their stuff light, I wouldn't be surprised if that 6,100 grows to over 6,500.

I had my stepson make the new freeze plugs more even and clean off manifold gasket material.

I've got everything (minus fluids) to rebuild the transmission. Hopefully I'll get time to work on it next weekend.

On another note, I'm aware the 4 door seats don't slide forward as much as on the seats on the sport. My sport driver seat base is snapped toward the left center, not at the lever. Can I simply swap rails and make them slide forward to access the back seat?
If not, I have 2 grey, heated leather seats from a linited for sale...

Yes you can swap rails I do this all the time
You can run fuses power back to the seats and get the heaters working also

Yup yup or you can just can take the seats apart fairly easily and swap cushions and seat backs. I did this on mine.

Really slow progress. Most an issue with money or time or both. The engine is in, just not bolted down yet. The seats will go in this evening and I'll start on the transmission rebuild.

Had my stepson assemble one drum, I did another. It's not done though, but I have good excuses.
A suburban was broke down on the road, allegedly ran out of gas, in traffic, on a busy road. I tried to jump it while in the road as they said they killed their battery. Jumped it, it didn't really want to stay running, I pulled that out of traffic with my Civic. Got it on level ground, out of traffic and it started with another jump. Then since we're moving, went and got some boxes. After the second drum, it was dinner time.

If not, they're not expensive. I'd rather give an individual some $ than a big company. I'm weird like that.

I'm sure the transmission issues I had were valve body related. I've removed the L retainers and all of the others. So much is seized.

A guy I've done business with in the past is offering a complete 5r55e as a core (it slips) for $75. The valve body is not seized. He's also offering the torque converter. The fluid in that transmission is still pink. Mine was black/dark.

Not sure what $75 is worth to you, but a rebuild vs. a rebuild + $75 isn't that much different in my opinion, plus (assuming you trust him, doing business with and trusting are two different things) the known-good parts that you're after, I'd take it.

I agree, it's already pulled. A used VB on ebay is $85. I'll be picking it up Saturday morning. Anyone need any 5r55e parts?
