5r55s tranny fluid

Hello all,

I found that I have a 5R55S transmission in our '06 Explorer. I have found lots of info on other styes 5R55's but can't seem to find out much about this one.

I really want to change the fluid only in the pan and was really wondering if anyone knows where a fill plug is on this tranny. I might just pump it up through the level check hole until it runs out if I can get a tube from my pump in it.

If I decide to do a full change can I drain the torque convertor easily? Is the filter easy to change?

We have no probs with the tranny, I just want to maintain it. We occassionally tow a bass boat or light utility trailer but nothing heavy.

Remove the pan,change the filter. There is no fill plug, has to be pumped in thru pan level plug, converter has no drain. I believe the 55w is similar. More than this I don't know.

Thanks yall. I was afraid of there was no drain on the Convertor. I'll just handle it like everyelse has suggested
