yeah Vroom, its got some cancer directly underneath the battery tray. I'll need to cut out the rusty frame-horn and either bolt (easier) or weld (better) a replacement in. I'm not quite sure what needs to be done there. it happened cuz the ancient battery had leaked. corrosion galore

small update:

I've got the rear brakes squared away

and the wheels got stripped of their blackness and got polished and installed:

Hope to get more done soon. it's coming together nicely, but I wish it would go faster! :


Hey Jeff, did that Evap. canister get sent out?

I'll know in a few days if I can get those tailpipes built or if it's gonna take another month
we'll see...

this is what i big block looks like in a fox body

and this is where I'm at now. test fitting all my new parts, and i am glad i did because it involves cutting.......both metal, and skin. plus the occasional swear word......

nope, i had a 351w in it. that is a 429 big block out of a 68 thunderbird. it will be mostly street driven, but it also will run down the drag strip occasionally.

Just for future reference a 351w is considered a small block, it's pretty much a 302 with a taller deck height.

Awesome!!!! thank you. it needs that, wires plugs, cap, and rotor. and maybe a few more under-hood stuff. then, I'll learn how to tune a carbed engine. super stoked for that! and it needs the exhaust fixed up and the interior buttoned down and it will be registered and insured!

did I mention I'm WAY stoked?

I had to move Two trailers, the chassis for the 50 somethin' Chevy, and the Torino to get the Cobra outta there :thumbdwn:


this is after both trailers were moved:

I moved them myself! I'm new at that so I felt very accomplished!

this is how I moved the chassis before I found help:

the Torino:

Moved it forward almost to the road, so we could move the Cobra out without too much juggling.

pulled the cobra out:

this was odd, cuz I had no brakes. not even the E-brake
I managed to drive it out despite the dangling calipers :
but I almost ran it into my explorer cuz I was a little over zealous


at this point, one of my neighbors happened to see what was going on lent a hand. I appreciated that VERY much!

we used his truck to push the barely rolling Torino to its new home:

unfortunately it may stay there for the rest of its life

we were then able to muscle the chassis behind the cab, I put the trailers back and it was finished! It was much more work than I wanted to do, but it was probably my last chance before the rain starts.

now I'm super jealous! seeing it berried behind stuff is one thing, but seeing it out on the loose is another! before you do start to drive it around, get your frame rail fixed! you never know what it may look like under the k member as well. but i still love it, and want it! LOL!
