Another Swingin weekend?

So I could use help, if anyone wants to--

I need help with 2 things-
1-build a huge swingset

2-Finish off the whisky Pete and Jason left behind

Sheri has all of the hardware inventoried. There are extra parts.

Gmanpaint, v8powerbaby, Rangrayy and elessar65 already laid all the wooden parts out, Gamanpaint did his magic and coated them with sealer. We are in the process of inventorying them against the parts list, but it looks to be all there.

This is supposed to be a 24 man hour project, taking 2 men 12 hours to complete. I figure if we have about 6-7 of us working on it, it should take no more than 3 days.

So, any swingers out there?

The weather forecast for Sunday and Monday is a good one. I would like to try those 2 days.

I really think it could be whipped out on Sunday--to be honest. It is supposed to be in the 50's

This might be a nevermind. I cannot believe it.

There is a 3" x 74 1/2" post missing from the kit. Any chance one of you guys stashed it when the boxes were unpacked?

This post is the very first step, as it is the center pole for the slide and must be set in the ground.
I am just going to tamp it in tight. I hadn't planned on concrete.

You know what I think? I think that support tube was left out of the packaging intentionally. This way they can be sure of the install time and get the product registered.
Each package contained a red sheet of paper with a big stop sign, cautioning against contacting the merchant for missing parts. There was a provided 800 number to call instead. They wanted to register the product. We handled this first, and they seemed to magically know the exact part we needed. Kinda fishy.

Anyway, it is supposed to be here soon, I guess the swing sets are made here in Kansas.

Well, we got the pole and it is set in concrete.

Come hang out Late Saturday night,
I would say be here early, however we have a holiday family event to attend.
We will be home around 9:00 PM. If there are people showing up, we can do a little socializing, and get this thing set up on Sunday. Or be hung over and look at it--idunno.



I believe 90ranajo will be around, as he is stopping for refuge on his way to his destination. I expect him to head right out though, as he has a way to go.


If you cannot make it that is fine. I just want to get on this while the weather is nice. It should be in the 40's.

Shame I'm so far away..I've got plenty of experience building small and big outdoor playsets. I've built several for people's kids and two large ones, one for the local municipal park and one for a day care center....

My daughter, ( one of em) called to say the changed their route back home from NC
they were going to do I 70, but cut south. Right now they are near Atlanta.

They will be here tonight also!!!! Woo hoo another inside camping trip at the Smith's!!!

Just now seen this thread. Jon, I had thought you had this covered, what happened? Since I heard nothing about this, I was under the impression it was going up as soon as the part arrived. Sorry, I don't read all the threads in this sub forum, I didn't catch it till now.

Well, Robert got back on the road around 11:00 AM. It was very nice to have him as a guest. I feel we got to know each other a bit better.

Anyway, we then got back at the swing set project. It's looking pretty good.

The weather sure did cooperate with us. What a beautiful weekend.

And we even had a bit of carnage already

If you guys are still wanting to go at the end of may to Smorr, someone else is going to have to take the reigns on that meet. I will be in Moab.
