AWD Issue

Hi all. Yes this has been previously discussed not find the answer I'm searching for.
96 5.0 AWD, trans rebuilt, t case rebuilt(looked really good oddly enough) new cv axles, new front shaft (twice now hunting issue) new hubs, ball joints etc, rear joints, brakes tons of things. L
Issue: tight turn provides audible pop bang, also if idling can stop truck by turning sharp binds so hard. Acts like a 4x4 with lockers.
Question: does anyone know what the torque arm off the front diff to frame is? Or a replacement bushing? Second is there any way to force that awd clutch/coupler off?
Also does not seem to do it when front shaft is out of truck and can hear front axle go open when Turing tight and shaft is out.

Well it doesn't seem to do it with front shaft out if truck and i think i can hear feel front diff slip open with shaft out. So yes I'm worried about front diff or possible viscous coupler has bit the dust finally. Is there anyway to test that viscous coupler for proper operation?

I have dropped fluid in both this week and both looked acceptable. Not obvious burnt smell or extreme metal to be found

What does your ride height look like? Guys do too much of a torsion twist and exceed the limitations of their CV axles

Good thought. Done that too. After a week of adjust everyday after work I have them perfect side to side, and a little rake to the front but fairly flat. Tires all newish cooper cobra street tread tire. Balanced rotated. 3 shops to be sure. Also have the camber bolts in to adjust camber. Alignment done with cv axles and ball joints.

Front end binding then popping

Hey Explorer fans & owners. I have an update & further questions about my 1998 Explorer with the auto 4 high & 4 low. As I said in a previous post my Explorer had started binding then popping when turning especially to the left & the 4 high & 4 low lights would flash about 6 times every so...

I found a loose bushing in the front differential torque bracket to frame.

Yea i was curious about that i can see tattle tell marks where it has been hitting and banging around in there. Where can I find that bushing or what is it properly called i assumed torque arm. I'll look at your post.

So actually I think your post is what made me make my own last year. It just seems to have failed already I couldn't find one here locally. I'll search more. I just compared a arm bushing until I found one close cut the old one apart for spacers.

I used some urethane energy sway bar bushings in a superlift to mimic the factory front diff torque arm bushing

Can you turn the front output on the t case by hand?
