I finally went out today and removed those unsightly door moldings. I'd been planning on doing this for a while, but I was afraid of what I might find underneath
I just sucked it up today and did it. Here is a pic with the moldings:
And after...
Took me about 2 hours, All I used was some fishing line to get up under a corner of the molding, then I just slowly pulled it off. Then I was left with some VERY TOUGH 3M double sided tape. I heated that up with a hairdryer and just rubbed it off with my fingers. There really isn't a better way to do it. Needless to say I have lots of blisters, but it was worth it in the end.
