Big Bear Run June 24th - 26th

Got back this afternoon. Had a great time, wished I could stay another day or two. It was really crowded up there but by 12:00 today it was empty and my pumpkin was leaking pretty bad by the time I got back, it was nearly empty. These are the only pics I have but I have some short video too that I will post later.

Joe,

I still have my old diff. cover if you need one

Although I'd like to here the story first! :D

Thanks for the offer I'll let you know. No real interesting story on that one, I think it just took a good jolt or 2, or 5 or 15 compliments of the John Bull and is just in need of some new sealant.

Low quality but still videos below:

Joe, when did you add the superlift kit?

I'll use your question to give my thoughts on it. I got the front kit about 3 weeks ago. I had to take the next step with my Ex but with just having been married and saving for a house I didnt have money or time or know-how to do the SAS I will eventually do (couple years I guess). And I didnt want to put on a body lift.

I went with just the front kit so far and just slapped my warrior shackles on with the OME springs for about 3 and a half inches out back. With an inch of torsion twist the kit gave me about 5 inches of lift in the front. With some trimming I am sure I could go up another size in tire. I will do a spring over shortly.

I have mixed feelings about the lift so far. Make no mistake the drop brackets and new front crossmembers are truly an enormous hinderance on the trail but they are pretty tough and can take a beating (the front crossmembers and brackets are about 12 inches from the floor with 33's). On the plus side the lift did raise the vitals up and outta the way and the ride is super cushy and flexy (for IFS). I dont raise a front tire very often anymore compared to before. And the spring over out back should look somewhat even and help even more with clearance.

Had a great time out there (minus the dust and the 100 or so dirt bikers) and the weather was just as nice as the previous trip.

Joe, your brothers are pure comedy, they had me and Bill laughing all night.
And next time we'll know better than to buy firewood from a dude who's purchasing 2 ice cream bars, 5 candy bars and various candy realated items...lol.

I had no carnage on this outting but on our little Sunday run either my u-joints or bearings are going bad so I gotta tear into my axle and driveshaft to hunt down the culprit.

Bill, thanks for the use of your Co2...sure saves me some time

Tom, I hope you made it home alright with that faulty power steering hose...get it fixed so we can do another run soon :D

Ok guys where are all the pics??

WELL guys!! We were there at the discovery center at 8:45 -9:00 -9:15 -9:30, I finally had to take one for the team, and we did White Mountain with a group of J**P Liberties.

Damn, we were there from about 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Right smack in the middle of the lot. We saw several groups of Liberties and were riding with one group up Gold Mountain. How the hell did we miss each other?

Here's some pics. :) These three are from the rock field on Gold Mtn. It's a large area of deep loose rocks. There's sort of a trail across the middle of it. None of the Libertys even tried it, they all took the bypass trail. Jeff in the Yota tried climbing a pile off to the side of the trail, he was doing okay until he dug holes with all 4 tires.

Hey, that Toyota looks familiar! I knew I had a username here somewhere from way back. Great to meet you all, it's always cool to find a group of guys and gals who can have fun, wheel hard, and help each other out on the trails. I had a great time and hope to meet up with everyone again. Thanks for letting an import tag along :D

I ended up with a scarred & dented rear driveshaft and not much more on the Yota, otherwise it pretty much went where I pointed it. (Save getting owned by that rock-pile, stuff was just too loose  :thumbdwn: ). I'll be up in that area again the weekend after the 4th, hopefully with a few more fairly serious rigs to run the Bull and whatever else we can find. If anyone's gonna be around, shoot me an e-mail.
