BMXking's Axle Swap 1st gen. Coils/Radius Arms!!!

Yeah, Tim from Tim's Auto Upholestry (next door to us) brought it over there for him on Saturday. He's the one who recovered the Sparcos in the F250 in suede. Do you know if the truck won anything? I wanted to go, but the SAS was more important. :D

naw i didnt stick around that long i had to get home and work on my truck also it looks a lil bit different now just to keep you guessing im not gonna tell you what i did lol everyone on here will see in due time haha lol im retarted

Chopped top? :D

I ordered a set of these today: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/xq/aspx/dept_id.15/display_id.3346/qx/Product.htm Really cheap, saves me a lot of time building some, and they should be fairly strong. Had them shipped two day UPS to me, so they should be here by the time I pull the rear out to weld on the shock mounts, etc.

Thanks to IZwack, I'll probably be ordering my gears and master install kit for the front end in about 2-3 weeks, both for ~$190 shipped. I would order it sooner, but I want to get some time in the 4.88s that are in the rear, so I can decide if I wanna just step up to 5.13s now (and go 5.13 in the rear when I go 35 spline) https://completeoffroad.com/wsm/i-1319_yukon_gear_dana_30_35_44_gear_and_install_kit.html

nope but i was thinkin bout doin it
cant wait to see this thing rollin around lawrenceville its gonna be good lol

well looks like you are moving along. i have mine rolling down the road d44 in front and ford 8.8 in the rear for now. i have to get four more inches of lift before i get my tires and gears

Dang BMX, its gonna be close! Im almost there dude... Haha, just messin i think you got a little time on me still. I got my gears done though. :)

Yeah, I had it rolling, but like I said, I'm pushing it forward. Once I start driving this thing, it's gonna be for good...not drive it for a week, then fix the things I already knew were wrong (push axle forward, etc)

for real....that kinda stuff just makes things more of a PITA cause usually suspensions settle and that makes it way harder to do anything

the only reason im drivin mine is i am watin on the gears so i can do the rear while it is still out. the only thing else to do is drop the coil buckets for more lift and do rear springs

any at all ?

Sorry.. BMX and i are on our honeymoon, we'll get back to you in a few days.

Yeah thanks .. I'm working my way (back to you babe - with a burning love inside).

Haha, yeah right^^^

Ok, well overall, I haven't done $h*t since last Monday. A few 30 minutes spurts of work here and there, but nothing major. I got the caliper brackets, hooked up my rear brakes, they fit like a glove. The brackets are weld on, but I'm chopping off the bottom of them(needed to be widened for the bigger housing anyways) and making them bolt on to where the brake backing used to be. Should work out nicely (many 9" disc conversions are the same way). I've got some pics of how I chopped the bumper and stuff like that, but I'll post them later. I'm cutting the steel for the trac bar mount tomorrow at work. I had a design made up, but I scrapped the idea today for a much stronger design, with more gussetts, etc. I'm bringing my rear calipers to school tomorrow, hooking up the e-brake lever and everything and then cutting the spacers for my caliper mount. Then at work I'm gonna cut the steel for my trac bar mount and the mount for the other part of my caliper bracket. Then tomorrow night or Wednesday, my neighbor can weld up the trac bar mount and I can bolt it on so that we can weld it up. After that I just need to finish up those shims for the lower coil mounts, finish drilling the holes for the radius arm mounts, and make some new brake lines for the rear axle. Weld the shock mounts on, the trac bar bracket to the frame, and the coil buckets to the spacers to the frame ( ) Done. I'm trying to finish it soon since I've gotta be doing a 2" Rusty's lift on a WJ Friday night. :)

Hmm, so it's:

Hey! You know you guys had quite a head start you know :p

yeah, but I also had a lack of funds and no garage!!!!! :p J/K, I've heard enough crap about mine. I really only had 1/2 of Saturdays, 1/2 of Mondays, and most of the day Sunday to work on it, so I know how you feel.

Anyone interested in a BC Broncos adjustable trac bar? I'll sell it much cheaper than what I paid for it!!!! A while back, I tried to rebend my bent stock trac bar at school. The tip on the torch was messed up, so it couldn't get it hot enough. I threw it out at school (2 months ago) and found it there yesterday. I brought it to work, and we used the torch there to try and bend it. We bent it in the right places and it looks like new again. I ordered Energy Suspension poly bushings after I found out we could bend it back, and they came in today. I did a bit of cutting on the Bronco Graveyard trac bar mount, and I'm going to weld it to the 1/4" plate I had from the other trac bar mount I was trying to make. The stock trac bar is perfect length, so I'm going to use the weld on trac bar mount and weld that to the 1/4" plate and bolt that to the steering box. Then I can drive it across the street and get the final welds. I also had my friend use the lathe to cut me some 1/2" aluminum spacers for a 3/8" bolt, so I'm gonna mount it to the caliper bracket after I get back from my friends house (going to use the press to finish pressing in the wheel studs).

Well, I installed the poly bushings in the trac bar last week. It looks like it's gonna be perfect for my setup, so the BC Broncos trac bar is definitely for sale now. I changed my mind about bolting on the brake brackets, and I'm just gonna have my neighbor lay some  tig welds on them and stay with the weld on. (I thought about what you said Jason and agree that I should get him to weld anything and everything since the welds are so nice. :D) I bought some pinion shims to use for the front coils and they worked out perfect. My spring mounts are now 0* at ride height. My neighbor wasn't home at all this weekend, so I couldn't get the truck finished. I've gotta get him to weld the trac bar mount to the trac bar plate, and then the coil buckets to the spacers, shock mounts to rear axle, and caliper brackets to rear axle and then it'll be all done. I put in a WJ lift on Friday night and then worked and wheeled all day Saturday so I couldn't get much done this weekend anyways. I'll try to post updated pics tomorrow.

Too bad I didn't start my build later or else I would take that trac bar off your hands. Sounds like we're gonna finish about the same time...I don't know about you but i'm tired of working on my junk, I just wanna wheel it!
