The green actually looks pretty close, once the maroon-ish paint is on it should offset it, and once it's clear and decaled, it should all go together.

Wow another one...

Today I did another light coat of green as the first coat wasn't quite even , tomorrow I'm going to start sanding the roof for the red.

Good work buddy! Thanks for keeping us updated!

I actually painted mine the opposite way, from the top down.

I painted mine with the red first, then taped off the strips, then the yellow then the green, then cleared all last.

Update!

I spent all last night sanding the roof down for the red. I also spent it studying the way the hood stripes are shaped looking through dozens of photos. I set up my laptop in the garage and spent the night cutting out paper jigs for the stripes and fitting them to the car so they matched the pictures.

This morning I then went and taped around the jigs , then simply flipped them over and used them on the other side reversed. This way the stripes will be the same on both sides, and wow , the taping took forever! But ultimately it turned out very symmetrical.

The red I used isn't very shiny either much like the green so I'll need to clear the car when I finish everything.

That last pic is just to show how incredibly vibrant that florescent green is compared to anything else around it. lol

THAT IS LOOKING AWESOME!!! :biggthump Great job on painting that. Agreed, that green is really bright. :D

Great job. Are you planning on getting decals made for it as well?

I already ordered a hood decal in the right color for like 30$ , but as for the side decals I don't know if I will they are very expensive.

If you dont mind me asking but are you having one of the forum members make them for you? Front decal is a must. Should still look alright without the sides. You can always add them later.

No I bought it on ebay , it's actually suppose to be a door decal for the jeeps but will work good enough as a hood decal. I had them change the color so it was yellow instead of red.

This is inspiring me... lol, I can't wait to start my own!

keep on with it! i'm subscribed

how many hours do you think you've put into it so far?

Dang...before too much longer there will be a whole fleet of these Jurrassic Park Explorer's out there :D

I would have painted my X like a JP X if I had bought the 93 I was looking at buying.

Last night and today were the most hours I've put into it. But still it hasn't taken very long hour wise. Just taken so long becuase I can't constantly work on it lol.

Thats cool. Not sure if it would be cheaper but i thought the other guys with the jp trucks had a forum member make them up. I remember reading as well that one guy charged just the cost of making the decals and wasnt profiting so as not to infringe on copyright laws. Might be worth looking into.

My decals were made by a board member. The decals cost more then the paint job though:(
