-Deathrow Update Log-

Well, they don't make the brush guard I used to have except in chrome these days, so I haven't been able to nab one. BUT...I nabbed this beast for cheap instead! Pictures from me and the of the listing while it was on their truck. One or two very small spots of surface rust and that's it, suckers in fantastic shape and can't wait to throw it on once everything's fixed up!

Doesn't have their emblem, so I guess it was probably modified ranger one, but suckers tough either way!

yep you wont regret winch bumpers in general haha very tough :)

interesting, what has to be modded? i really like how that one looks! it does look like the affordable offroad ranger bumper they offer

afaik theyre really close. the only difference is the bolt holes. I think the header panel height is a bit different on the ranger vs explorer when i measured (i think it was a few inches) so new holes should work. i think if you put a ranger onto explore itll bolt on but it wont look quite right, but new holes and you should be good to go iirc (dont quote me)

Looks like a solid piece! Gotta mount some lights up on that sucker! May be... green ones?

It may be the affordable ranger one, like maybe it's just an older version before they added they're logo on them? Not real sure, definitely very similar in looks and quality. Oh that sucker definitely is tough, no complaints at all with this vs the old guard! Though I do plan to nab a guard to weld onto this in place of the bull bar or make my own, I loved having the headlight covers, plus the brush guard looks better than the bull bar to me. It should just bolt on since it was on the other guys X, doesn't appear to be modified mounting wise, unless they welded all new brackets and recoated everything, no aftermarket holes at least.
Oh I definitely want lights for it! Would have killed to keep my fog lights since they were still new and I custom mounted them, but oh well, I'll do some better lights on this one and store those old ones for later! Not real sure lighting wise for it yet beyond getting my 20" bar mounted, feel free to suggest some ideas! Maybe some hidden lights in the skid section underneath, so it lights up green through all the holes..? Think that could be neat!

you could always "hang" the 20" off the stinger. could also do some pods in the face of it. does FL require front plate? CA does but havent run it in years, but technically it would be nice to have somewhere to mount. may i also suggest 2 or so more cooling holes on the bottom? one thing i ran into w the winch bumper is that it leaves the trans cooler hoses exposed so a skid plate may be nice... though that is just more and more weight haha

are you getting a second winch now?

That's the plan for the bar, easiest install choice. Did think about doing some in the face of it! FL doesn't, no, but I do still want to make sure I've got mounts just in case, I'm getting one to sit in front of the winch leads, so I'll have to nab two now. And yes, two winches, though I'll take the current one and swap it to the X, cause for what it is, that 12k ZXR is way beyond plenty, and I'll get the Apex 12k for the rado since it'll pull better for the weight. I do plan to get affordable offroads skid plate to pair with it too, so will do!

one note ab the AO skid- in the pics it says it bolts up to where the shroud is but the one i got goes to the body mount... tbh still ain mounted it bc of that since i cant get the mount off/probably could just dont have the time rn

havent even bother w front plate here haha there are better things to enforce...

dont get the wong the AO skid is good stuff... just not quite a pictured. just an FYI

Ahh, definitely appreciate that heads up! I'll make it work, I do certainly want that if I can!

Maybe, guess I'll found out in like 6 months or whenever the hell I decide to order it. For sure, I will!

I definitely won't turn ya down on it yet! Looking at learning welding, finally, got some other projects I want to start and I'd rather some of them not be bolted together, or some have to be welded like trying to do the brush guard vs bull bar/stinger on this new bumper. So I definitely wouldn't turn down the experience by that time!

jus lmk! if you only plan to weld thin/mild thickness steel, cant beat the HF flux welder imo. no gas to buy, and for the price, cant beat it!
