Some of you guys know probably that I've got to stay busy. My Un-Limited is all done so I need something to play with... and got myself a new toy... very, very neglected 2002 Sport.
I can't believe that someone can postpone service that much and just keep on going not fixing stuff... untill the moment when the truck simply stops working...

Doesn't look that bad - except for some dents and bruises...

Nice:D Looks sharp:biggthump

It sure looks sharp... from a distance.

First I have to fix what needs fixing. It had no brakes - after driving it home - with very limited braking I found out that one of rear brake wheel cylinders was stuck and the other leaked brake fluid. Front pads are run down. Picture of rear rotor attached. Have to fix a vacuum leak... and clean-up. Interior is even worse than exterior. Carpet is gone... gone... will probably replace it with something like Sport Track has on the floor, center console has had a part of it replaced and it's different shade of gray so I might just install a message center there... cut armrest, radio acting-up - no matter how you turn the knob volume either goes all the way up or all the way down... door locks don't work right, lift gate does not lock on the driver side, missing one key and no remotes...

more to come...

I'll probably just fix it a little, replace hood, add extra leaf in the back, turn front a little and put some serious tires on - don't know what kind of backspacing I've got on these rims but they are 17X8 so should work with 31" meats...

will see, will see...

Holy crap

I've never seen rotors that thin before...looks like you could almost cut glass with them!

I'm also surprised they didn't just fall apart either...

And if you don't mind me asking, what kind of deal did you score on that one?

holy cow I've never seen a rotor that bad in my life & i work at a parts store

Wow Dre. Looks like you saved that Sport from a slow, painful death. :D

nice explorer sport u got there dre keep up the good work

Holy crap x 3 on those rotors. Wtf?

that was driver side... passenger side was not as bad but probably due to the fact that passenger wheel cylinder was stuck.

Truck is not bad overall... just needs some TLC. I hate it when people just keep driving without fixing or even servicing their vehicles.

More to come as I dive into this project head first.

I had that exact conversation with someone recently on here. People just float through life with their vehicles thinking that they are self sustaining. I'm guilty of it to some degree, but basic stuff like rotors and whatnot being ignored is just ridiculous.

Looking forward to more. Love vehicle rescues. :D

Well... all four corners fitted with brand new brakes (COMPLETE!) - stops on a dime.
Hub replaced.
Plastic pipe around intake replaced (rubber end had a hole - engine was running rough).
Truck runs like a dream but it still has some scars that I need to address. It was one hell of a mess... let me tell you.
Entire liftgate is missing power - no wiper, no defrost, no license light... need to look into that - probably bad ground...

More? I can go on and on - someone really gave it hell.

I love rescues...

This will be nice to see! We have an 01 that was neglected also... the brakes had not been touched in about 2 years. Be watching, thanks! :)

Dre-Good to see you found something. Looks like you've got some work ahead of you. Nice bling wheels... Now just throw a body lift on and some boggers! :p:

well, you know me Pete - I always like tuff cases ;)

always like to work on these trucks - perhaps I have enough time so I can take the 02 to the Badlands and see how it performs

anyway - those are 17X8 rims - offset not what I would like but I guess it would look better if I put at least 31X10.5 meats... :D

looking to put AAL and turn the front a bit... 31" tires if I score a cheap set.

New addition to my truck...

I'm with you Jon I kinda dig em.

Here's a shot of the wheel... tomorrow a shot of the side - Tires are 245/17 - I guess 31X12.50X17 would look a lot better!
