As harlemn said, the ON/OFF functions were removed with V3.5.1 which was supposed to make the change automatic according to your time zone.

Isn't it horrible. I had to change my clock for my alarm clock. My microwave, my stove, my watch. All manually. Then I get in my car and it didn't adjust itself either. So I had to press the settings button and then the clock button and then the plus button. Infuriating. I had to take a nap after all that button pushing. I almost broke a sweat. I was starting to glisten for sure. LOL. At least it has a clock..

The question isn't about how easy it is to change... it's about the fact that it is another bug. The last update specifically addressed the confusing aspect of the "DST" switch in settings, only to introduce a new issue w/ it not changing as it was supposed to (making it once again confusing). And if they did use the old DST parameters, then in April your clock is going to change itself an hour and be off again It's just ridiculous how much they mess up simple things with this whole system.

See I look at it this way... I didn't have to change the clock on my alarm, television, treadmill, computer, or watch (all changed automatically) and I don't have clocks on my microwave, or stove, so I get into my car which is connected to GPS and it has the wrong time. It is kind of infuriating.

That is why I did my settings just before going to bed. After all that work, I drifted right off.

BTW, IVT has been surprisingly silent on this latest, whoops!

I'm on the latest 3.5.1 and it did not automatically change, and syncing with GPS didn't do it either. I had to manually change it

Yes. Another Ford foible. MFT is working very well for me. A minor bug for sure. Not sure if it is worthy of infuriating someone. Maybe they will fix it in the new update that may or may not be forthcoming in future days, weeks or months.

I misunderstood what I was previously told; I apologize for that, but the system is working as intended. The SYNC module won't correct for daylight savings time. GPS time is reported in UTC time; UTC also doesn't correct for daylight savings time. If you have navigation and the RESET TO GPS TIME button is pressed, the module will reset the time and default to UTC minus 5 hours. Since we spring forward an hour for daylight savings, you'll have to go into the clock settings and increment the time by an hour.

Now people are expecting it to do the same thing but don't realize it has changed. Sounds like a failure to communicate! That's why when Ford does upgrades to MFT they should send out a release to EXPLAIN and DETAIL what has been changed, upgraded, deleted.

That's true in Dearborn but not in other time zones. There is a time zone correction in the Reset to GPS Time function. Mine defaults to CST (UTC minus 6) in Wisconsin. If it defaulted to UTC minus 5, it would be correct now.

If you're saying the time adjusted automatically in your Limited, then that is incorrect. It has always required a manual setting. I do agree with the statement that any update should be accompanied by an explanation of what was changed, added or deleted, even if we have to go to SMR to get that.

Prior to 3.5.1, the DST on/off was there. It required you to turn it off in the fall and on in the spring which resulted in the hour change. People were complaining because they thought with it "on", it would change automatically but that is where the confusion was. With 3.5.1, they removed the DST feature and now we hit the +/- button instead. Consider the DST "off" the "-" button and DST "on" the "+" button. Same exact thing, just relabeled to remove the confusion.

Personally I think it is crazy that something as advanced as MFT can't figure out DST.

So for the next 7 months every time I hit the "reset to GPS" button to correct the time (I use this every so often because the "sync time to GPS" feature was removed in version 3.0x or 3.2.x, I forget which release) I will have to also adjust the hour back to daylight savings time. Right? I think I can handle it but annoying none the less.

I guess that's correct if you have to adjust the time that way between the two time changes. Personally, I've never had to adjust the time on mine for two years except for those twice yearly hour changes.
But as blwnsmoke said, you would think that a vehicle like this would be able to adjust it without intervention.

There are so many things wrong with this. This means that the clock does not stay synchronized with GPS and needs to be reset each time a battery cable is pulled for maintenance. It also means that since we know that personal computers are known to not keep accurate time (hence windows, mac, and all other machines having regular time synching functionality built into them) that the time will never stay accurate. Why does Ford keep taking so many shortcuts with the MFT development. Everything they do seems to be a shortcut that just causes them more issues going forward.
