Exhaust

I know absolutely nothing about mufflers and exhaust systems but I want that deep throaty noise (sounds kind of like a boat almost lol) and I like the look of the chrome exhaust tips. I don't care about the performance gains, is there a way I can get just the look and sound without spending the $600? I've seen stuff on eBay for like $40 when I search 'explorer muffler'. I can have my cousin weld it on for me.

P.S. It's a v6

With a v6 your very limited. I know Gibson makes a good exhaust system which uses the magnaflow muffler. Also, a lot of the people just run with a 40 series flowmaster.

A Magnaflow 4" round 2.5" I/O dumped sounds awesome on the v6 4.0L Ranger XLT though (My car right now, I'm getting the explorer in a month or two).

thats a flowmaster delta 40.... very similar to a reg 40.. i strongly suggest it

So that's with the whole cat converter and everything that comes in the $600 package?

nah.. i bought the muffler for 100 bux at pepboys and me and a friend welded it in the stock location and also cut off the tip where it turns to go straight back and welded on a magnaflow chrome tip... all in all it was a 130 dollar investment... very worth it

my flowmaster 50 sounds mint! exactly what i wanted. not to loud but comes alive when you give her the goose. happy i didnt go with the flowmaster 40, i think for me it would have been to loud.

flowmaster 50 is perfect for the V8... nice and low... id cut ur pipe where it makes the turn and run a diagonal magnaflow tip... looks sweet

what length maganflow. i was think about cutting it at the bend and running a 18" magnaflow tip, the rolled lip on. send pics if you have some. campby9@msn.com
