Foxracin's 1991 Exploder

...You know I've got to ask about the front shaft, was that with stock hubs or with the upgraded heep hubs???

Any chance you can show us how you routed the pipe for your snorkel?

Got it for a pretty good deal I think. It ended up being $167 out the door. Found a discount code for Advances website for $50 off $200 or more so that helped a ton. Paid for it online with the discount and picked it up in the store about and hour later.

Got it all swapped in and ran new power wires to the alternator and everything. Its a lot cleaner now. Should have seen the mess of wires before. Dont have any good before pics.

Was hoping to get the old rusty rear axle, bearing, and seal changed out today but didnt work out like I had hoped. Supposed to go 4wheelin in tomorrow so I got to get up early and get it all changed up. Going to take it a little easier on it until I get the sas from now on so it will quit breaking stuff. Stay tuned more more pics tomorrow.

Foxracin, Dude thats a sweet rig you got there. I just stumbled across this thread like 2 days ago and I have been reading through it ever since. I have a 96 xlt 4wd and I am hoping to do a build similar to yours but maybe a little more mild(thats a word for I dont have the uncanny ability to find cheap parts like you do haha):D But I definitely have drawn a lot of inspiration from your build thread and I might steal some of your kick a ideas if thats ok. Maybe just maybe I can find some cheap parts for my rig. I do only live a little over an hour away from pull a part in Charlotte :D Anyway thanks for the awesome build thread  and I might have some questions for you in the future if thats ok.

Havent had any updates really. Just been driving and wheeling it. Only thing I have done to it recently is changed the air filter, got a spare wheel/tire, and new winch motor since the other quit. BIG changes coming within the next few months.

Picked this up today. Got it all for $130.

Aldo my D.D. Machine doubler kit should be here any day now.

Stay tuned for updates and more wheeling pics. Going wheeling all weekend this coming weekend.

Those broken shafts have to be making you pull your hair out.

How is your crawl ratio doing with the 4.56 and 35"?

I am worried that the 4.56 will not be enough for 35" and the little 4.0 OHV pushing them.

Great build so far. You have been busy in the time span you had.

This is a good cheap build truck. Wish I had the luck you do, I'd love to find a used suspension lift for the front.

d44?

I wouldn't call it Exactly cheap Glen. A lot of things that I can see here cost plenty.

He did get a few good breaks here, but sweat equity adds up. Gears, lockers, tires, winches, hardware, fluids, and the likes cost Puhlenty ;)

I meant as far as getting some items that would normally cost quite a bit was had for much cheaper.

Believe it or not it was a pretty cheap build. lol

In the 4.56 gears I had $120 shipped and a 8.8 4.10 for both the 4.56's. Bought the aussie 8.8 new. It was $239, got the arb for $200 broke it then got a powertrax used for $100. Tires were the most expensive thing, got $650 in them. Winch new was $300. Got a 55 gallon drum slam full of gear oil from my neighbor when he moved out so I got enough of that to last me the rest of my life. lol

Now the d44 and 9" is going to be rebuilt all the way and going to be getting the duff sas stuff so from this point on is where the money starts.
