Good 5.0 Throttle Body?

I'm lookin for a good throttle body other than the outrageously expensive one on explorer express. Can anyone help? Need it for my 5.0 Mount, thanks

You don't need a bigger throttle body since your exhaust is the bottle neck.

65mm tb is good for 400hp

Get a decent cam and roller rocker, better exhaust and headers and a chip and you will have what you want.

I have an explorer engine in my mustang and i have around 380hp with ebay cold air, 65mm tb, 2031 cam, roller rocker and a set of long tube headers.

When you have all the good stuff, all is in the tune.

so i totally meant to ask what a good throttle body SPACER would be(and where to even find one) haha, but i appreciate the responses

Ditto, contact a guy on eBay who ports stock TB's fairly. The Explorer was about $65, my SOHC TB was about $55. Good luck,

Is a ported throttle body really going to do anything though? There really isn't any size increase.

The guy I'm referring to ports them a bunch from end to end, except for the point where the throttle blade is. The TB I got for my SOHC is an OEM 4.6 Mustang piece, those are 65mm, my stock TB is 68mm. The claim for this one is that it flows as well or better than a 70mm FMS TB for a 4.6 GT. That may be, I am after the faster flow at non WOT periods.

It can be very helpful for stock or near stock engines. If you port a smaller size TB than you would choose as a non ported TB, you can gain a tiny amount. So if you plan ahead, try to begin with the ported smaller TB. Regards,
