How to Install Headlight on battery side?

I just bought the light and don't know how to install it. Can someone help?

remove the battery first, then you can easily get in there

Once you remove the battery, you need to disconnect the plug from the bulb/housing assembly, there is a large black plastic ring that locks the bulb into the reflector assembly. Turn that plastic ring 1/4 turn counter-clockwise them pull it away from the reflector assembly. Now you can remove the bulb, now you can put in the new one, just be careful and not touch the glass with your fingers unless you are wearing rubber gloves. The bulbs are quartz-halogen, meaning the glass if actually a mineral crystal filled with an inert gas. Oils from your fingers on the "glass" will create "hot-spots" and cause the bulb to fail prematurely.

Assuming you talking the bulb and not the entire headlight assembly.. Normally you pull the battery first...

We have an exide orbital battery in our X which is physically smaller.. I can barely get my hand between the battery and house to pull the bulb. If your running a stock sized battery it needs to come out..

BTW.. don't touch the bulb (new) with you bare hands.. wear nitrile or latex gloves and don't let the bulb touch any grease as your installing it. Grease on the bulb will shorten its life.

Wow, it's been a while since I had to do that, but I swear I was able to do it without pulling the battery (can't remember how)...

Maybe you can loosen the battery clamp and slide it out of the way enough to get in there?

Maybe you can reach it from under the truck?

You can loosen the battery hold-down bracket or clamp and lean the top of the battery away far enough to get to the bulb but it's easier to remove the battery, why risk scraped knuckles or possible battery acid burns?

just take the battery out, that is the easiest way, than you have all kinds of room, on the down side , you will have to reset all the radio presets,, and clock , if the head unit has tone setups they have to be redone too ,,
i just open the flap and take it out on the wires and use rubber gloves , so i don't touch the new bulb,, than the radio doesn't need to be reset ,

I piuul the turn signal out with the part that sorounds the headlight then unbolt the whole headlight. I have way to many settings on my stereo plus draining a cap and recharging takes a little while. quicker for me to go in from the outside

Second on slightly moving the battery. Never took mine out when I did it & although a bit of a pain, it's possible
