Art Carr will be a little cheaper than the TCI, but I know for a fact that the TCI ones can really take a beating.

price for the Intake Mani... $425ish
torque converter price... $825ish (from TCI)

ok I ordered the TYPHOON intake manifold (just the upper and lower, no other parts). I looked at a site and theres porting that could be done, which i probably will have done.
*EDIT* I ordered the Satin one, Im thinking ill just paint it.

I also ordered a shift kit through ART, hopefully it comes out to $100 (+shipping) like the site says

so $400-$425 spent today toward the truck and the shift kit will probably be the most benificial of the 2 parts ordered today.

P.S. Seeing that Blue Lightning makes me want one really bad!

The TCI housing is stock material, wheras Art Carr is billet, and smaller- lighter
10"
I had both in hand, chose the Art Carr FYI

Well i called and asked both places, looks like my pricing will be the same, maybe more expensive if i go with ART

New dyno pictures

Happy... Not yet, With the mani Ill probably be looking at 10 more HP/TQ... Tunned im hoping for a bigger difference

I did not know that. Thanks for the info because I was considering one but I'm probably gonna get a PI one now.

Ok bringing this back.

Right now I'm looking deeply in to a Procharger Supercharger. I'm a little stuck on which model to shoot for. I'm stuck between getting the C2, P-1SC-1, P-1SC-2, or the D-1SC
heres the spec sheet http://www.procharger.com/models.shtml

The only one I may not be able to get is the D-1SC because it states an N/A range between 300-500hp (and I'm at 250 untunned and minus the Typhoon manifold)

So I could spend the $600 and get the truck tunned so I could see if I could hit the 300 mark so I could get the D-1SC or I could stick with the 250hp and get whatever is within my range.

I might get the C2 because I dont think Ill reach over 375 N/A hp and its only 100 CFM less than either of the P-1SC's (and its 10 less lbs of boost max output).

Well im stuck, any opinions?

anyone have the spec sheet for the XB-1A

flows up to 1200CFM
max 18psi

It fits in the BD-11a brackets. I have it on my truck now. Puts out about 5psi with a 2.7in upper pulley and a 6.5in crank pulley somewhere around 5500RPM.

BTW that's in a 347, going through a large intercooler, and 5' of piping before the intake. Hope that helps.

That helps a lot, I heard the XB put out 1200CFM but wasnt sure. Thanks for the reply, I didnt know anyone replied, I didnt recieve an email notification.

Now I just need to decide.

Dom how much HP/TQ you putting at the wheels?

Don't know yet. I've had a bunch of problems with my build this time around.

I'm tuning it this Sat with Troll and his brother Dan. Still breaking in the new motor so I'm only pushing 6lbs of boost. I'm hoping for around 350 at the tires 500+ with the 18psi

Will start a new thread Mon with pics and such. Dom

Im thinking of getting a procharger (P1SC). Similar specs as the XB-1A but the output is 1200cfm @ 30lbs
price tag is $2550 (less than 3k miles) comes with:
Head unit (P1SC)
3 core FMIC (w/ piping for a 00 stang)
10lb pully
42lb injectors (for a 00-04 mustang, would they fit?)
90mm Lightning mass air sensor
70mm MAC Throttle body
AF gauge
Boost gauge

other extras includes 00-04 mustang upper plenum, and a Diablo 2 stage chip

opinions? i need an opinion ASAP because I could lose out on this deal, he claimed 396hp/400tq with this setup. (im assuming id end up with higher numbers tunned)

You don't NEED 300 hp on your N/A engine to be able to go with the Procharger D-1SC. If you want room to grow then the D1 will be where it is at. If you plan to make around 500rwhp then stick with the P-1SC choice. If you will maybe want more later on just start with the D-1SC and throw a bigger pulley on it to decrease boost.

The 42 lb/hr injectors will fit but you will have to get the injector harness adapters. If I were you I would go with a set of used 03/04 Cobra injectors as they are a dime a dozen and still are 39 lb/hr. They also have the EV6 connector which is what your trucks stock wiring harness has too so you would save money both ways. But if you plan to go bigger then just toss in a set of 50's and dont worry about it anymore. If you plan to go past the 450rwhp mark then I also suggest against the LMAF as they usually max at that point. If you do a blowthrough MAF setup (typical for centri setups) it will max a little earlier. If you want, you can run the LMAF and then later wire in the MAFXtender and be ok. Otherwise you would want to go with something like the SCT BA2400 MAS.

Overall not too terrible a price for it all. If you know you won't want more power later on then jump on the deal, if not then wait for a bigger supercharger to show up.

I am sure you already know this but if that supercharger system came off of a modular 4.6 Mustang engine then the bracketry will not fit your 5.0 V8 engine. I am only guessing this as you mentioned getting a used 99-04 Mustang upper plenum and the IC piping.

You will need to modiify the IC piping also. It will take a little fanagling to get the IC to fit behind the bumper, but it is doable. You would end up with higher numbers tuned because that looks like the typical setup for someone running the stocker bottom end on a modular 4.6 Mustang. I believe you have a built bottom end w/ low comp forged pistons so you can run much more boost.

Good luck.

do you know if a 5.0 mustang supercharger mounting bracket would work on the explorer 5.0?
