Is it possible to run a second gen ignition

So I have a second ignition and Key from a 2nd gen explorer that did not have the chipped key in it. My Ignition coil in my 91 in very unsafe and old is there anyway to use the 2nd gen coil on my truck

a coil is a coil is a coil. so ya, you could but fitment and wiring may by different and you'll have to go through that non-sense

the ignition coil pack has nothing to do with the chip key
If you need a new coil pack you can use one from any v6 ford that has a similar coil pack
