It happened again, another Explorer followed me home.

Thermostat housings used to be such simple things.

Body mounts....or what's left of them 🙄

There's nothing left of the bottom of the middle 3. Just crumbles.

Body mounts in mine have to be destroyed. Can’t even begin to imagine. Let me know if you can find a full set for under $100 👀
Oh no, it was like $170 😬

Finally got around to fixing this over the weekend. Was gone most of July, so didn't have time to do anything with it. Running great now.

Can I ask where you sourced the aluminium housing from? I can't find it on Rock Auto, which surprises me.

I've had a slow leak from the thermostat housing for a while, which is worse in mild or cold weather.

Have read about the alu one, and it sounds like it's not much more $ than the plastic one.

Amazon..

Got the body mounts swapped out, and that made a huge difference. Also added 1.5" wheel spacers to widen the track. So much more stable. Truck is on rails now, and looks better too.

/\ You should take some Linseed oil to that lower plastic cladding....it will take away that faded look and make it pop again.

@Stic-o 1.5" is perfect for these trucks. Less than that and you have to modify the studs; more than that and you have to trim the fenders.

Originally I did some Amazon spacers, but after a few days of driving I noticed a vibration at freeway speeds. I then ordered some quality Eibach spacers that are hub centric. Drives like a dream now., super smooth.

Don't do cheap spaces kids.

...I've got about 2 years on amazon spacers.......... let me go check them this weekend, but they've always stayed tight and I never had vibration that I noticed...

My aerostar van, I got 1/4 inch spacers to run the mustang wheels up front. I had to press in longer studs. I have no issues with using a spacer of any thickness. My 68 cougar has 1.5 inch spacers to run the same wheels.

I have Amazon spacers 1.5” I can tell you I torque them more then 100 ft lbs likely closer to 125-150
More leverage on wheel bearing and studs, higher end of the torque specs I go

Daylight savings kicked my a$$. Could not see anything at night, even with the new headlight housings and silverstars. Headlight technology has just changed so much in the last 10 years.

LED's for the win.

I have LEDs on both my classic Dodge's now. They are amazing!

I haven't moved JP over yet. I actually found myself using my off-road lights on the freeway. I mite as well have candles on the front.

How did we ever drive like this? 🤔

Slower and we had better eyes

At least we had 12v electronics and not 6v like the early cars.

6V is the worst. I'd rather take my chances with a pair of oil lamps on the fenders
