You started Jakees big buildup thread, couple mos ago.
to this point, you have done nothing, you have proven nothing, and it is my contention, that you will talk the talk for years to come, without ever doing anything, JMO

You have been negative the entire thread. Jakee is simply trying to get his truck to go faster. He doesn't need detractors like you. You are accomplishing nothing. And he doesn't need to prove to everyone here of what he is doing. I don't doubt that he will do a dyno run when he is done.

It's not like Jakee is saying "I'M GONNA BEAT YOU ALL!" So there's no reason to get defensive.

jakeeeee has said that several times he is going to beat spindle.
earlier he shot down the advice of the two people on this board who probably have the most experience with the SOHC (Spindle and Al)

he started it, and spindle wants him to finish it.

I had originally unsubscribed to this thread due to being bored with it and hearing all the sh*t talking going on in here, but I will come back once more to say this:

AJR, don't bother even asking that question. All the dumb sh*t talking that Spindle does is just normal for him. I believe he said the same thing about my being able to get that KB 2.2 supercharger into my truck. He didn't realize who he was dealing with though.

Spindle is an under educated poser who is jealous of anyone else who actually aspires to do anything decent with their vehicle. And when they do all that comes out of his mouth is speculative garble. Spindle, your a troll. Stop being such a *****. Throw a little tech talk at Spindle and he will scurry back under his little rock.






Jakee, I can also kind of see why people sometimes give you sh*t in this thread. You seem indecisive to say the least. And then to top it off you seem like your swayed by what people say in here too often. Who cares if they would feel better if you did or did not do this mod or made a baseline dyno run before or after that mod. It is YOUR project. Make a decision and stick to it. Damn, your a grown man and are married, you should be a little more decisive than that. To gain respect you have got to show decisiveness and follow through with things no matter what subjective comments anyone else makes. Even then, that still does not justify people like Spindle slinging stupid comments your way.

Let me start off by saying this. Yes, from the begging I thought to myself that we have a guy in here (Spindle) that claims 210 to the rear wheels (Great!) but didn't finish the project in my opinion and flames others because of this. Let me clarify; go to college, and make it all the way to 2 weeks before graduation and quit. Seems dumb eh? (I'm so tough cuss I have 210 to the rear wheels, you can't do better than me and you're stupid) All the crap he talked to Lazzman. Lazzman had a problem, and who helped him? All I saw was lazzman is stupid in all the replies to him reflected that came from spindle. He was put on the defensive so he never listened to you guys. Guys, that's not right. So I said to myself I'll just see if I can top spindles 210 to the wheels and put him where he needs to be.. Spindle, you did good, for just bolting on parts. You started off high, bolted on parts, and came up with the highest dyno posted in this forum. I've found higher charts in mustang forums so you did NOT max out like you've said. And you're pretty negitive to others that are starting out.

Isn't this being blown out of proportion? 210 to the rear wheels? Why don't we just fight about it? ;)

Spindle - I tried showing you respect but I guess I won't try that anymore. You want proof and YOU WILL GET IT! I'm being nice now. The more crap you talk to me, the more you'll have to swallow when I DO post some proof.

Spindle - How long did it take you to start modding and then finish? Did I ever give you a time frame I would be completed by? Maybe wish I was completed by but I remember you betting money I couldn't do it in a short time frame and I turned it down cuss I knew I couldn't do it in that amount of time.

Now as far as me being "wishy-washy", Yes, I have been. I have a plan in place, then a few of you guys want proof, I try and give you this but fall short. So, I can understand why someone would think that I'm just talking and not doing anything. I AM DOING THINGS! I'm not just all show, my truck is a HELL OF A LOT faster than it was. It's still SLOW AS HELL, but it's much better now. And I do see the potential for completing both goals. If I didn't, I would admit it right now! I am man enough to admit when I'm wrong and have done it time and time again. I'm not perfect either is anyone else in here.

Let's just say I get this goal. If anyone wants to try and do better, I'll help them try! I'll tell them what I did (Even the secret mods..hehehe.) and encourage them to top me. What's wrong with that?

I will NOT say i'm getting something done WITHOUT knowing for damn sure I can do it. That's what I've learned from this crap.

My goals; Top 210 to the rear wheels, and break into the HIGH 14's if POSSIBLE! Can it be done? Maybe not but I'm gonna try like hell. (I still think it can be done but maybe i'm just in la la land?)

I take advice from anyone IF the advice makes sence.

Aldive is alright in my books. Spindle? I'm not sure about this guy. Maybe he should take the advice he once gave me. "Have fun and don't take it so serious"

I'm not saying I'm better than anyone and if I make my goals, I will still NOT be better than anyone. Just found a combination that helped me, that's it.

:us: OK everyone. Unruffle your feathers. Aren't we all supposed to be enthusists of the same thing? Yes I (my company) am helping Jakee with his decisions and will be doing his custom tuning as I am a certified dealer. Will Jakee be the fastest in the crowd? Who knows? I have invited him to come over for a custom tuning session and will also spend Sat evening at the track with him posting #'s and getting this all on video. I have always posted my proof with timeslips and backed them up with video and while he is here we will do the same. If any of you are willing to come to Alabama and see the progress of this project (once the date is set) then you will be welcome to email or pm either of us and we will enjoy having you there at the dragstrip. The more the merrier. It would be great having a bunch of explorer guys.

FYI- My truck never posted the highest peak #'s but from what I understand has the fastest N/A time on this board for a 4.0L sohc. I think this was in part to the combination of good parts selected and this made an excellent foundation for my progress! There have been naysayers along the way but if I were to ever have let these people get me down I would have never gotten past the cat-back.

Realistically for me would be after the first of the year. The holidays are coming up and I'll be busy. I'M HOPING to be done with the N/A mods by the first of the year, if not, shortly after. January the 22nd is my wedding date (Yes, I say I have a wife but it's not legal yet) So, sometime after the wedding. Maybe Feb?

I do NOT have to be the fastest. I do not have to be the king. My intentions in here were to motivate myself and maybe some others. I made some goals for myself just for the motivation purposes and for a challenge (I work better with a challenge) Thus the 14 second N/A goal. Aim high!

Over 210 to the wheels would be great, and is still a goal of mine. However, the bottom line is I want a faster X on the street, not the dyno.

Would have been good to know where I started from but, FOR ME, I know I've gained a fair amount so far. Most of what I've done has worked out really nice. And because I have a good tuner, I know I'm in good hands.

Spindle - This is one thing we all have in common. Let's help each other and quit acting like a bunch of kids. I'll respect you if you do the same for me. There's no need in you leaving this forum.
 






Got the C&L installed. Intake looks better with black rubbers instead of blue. I'll shoot some pics this weekend.

Worked on the exhaust till 3:30 this morning. Cranked it up and found a leak. I'll have to get it welded up. Frustrating...

Tip - Don't overtighten a muffler clamp. You'll never get it off if needed. I said the hell with it I'm getting the entire system welded.
 






Just noted this thread has been rated = terrible. Wow. Guess I pissed someone off eh?
Again, there will be results. Just don't hold your breath and be patient.

hope the exhaust isn't aluminized steel cause it'll rust in about two years from the welds melting the coating. might want to retry clamping it or it may rust up after a bit.
