I knew it wasn't a fireo, I just knew corkey would see it.

Hopefully it is not the Stang Jon was originally in, which would explain Jons unexplainable fact that he changed vehicles at some point midway thru his trip to LMC. Combine that with the fact LMC is selling OEM Ford parts, and the mysterious dog behind the wheel of the Vitamin D Wagon, and I think we have a cold case here. Not to mention the German made eagle with the Chinese made bean bag horse sitting precariously on top of it, travelling NE-ish hmmmmmmmm

Wow are you out of the loop, they were in sparksaflyin's camaro in the first picture, then after that they moved to his explorer (froaders old explorer), and it is also sparksaflyin's dog so no mystery there. The only mystery is which toxic substance you were inhaling in the garage:D

edit: Got up to do some work and Dan beat me to it. Guess that's what I get for not refreshing the page before posting.

Many but they are all legal..... except in the State of Kalifornia

OK so here is a crazy (probably stupid) noob question...

Looking at the geometry of your front suspension (I don't know the techie terms here so bare with me) you have a bar that basically mirrors your steering arm to maintain it's geometry and eliminate bump steer. OK I get that, all is fine..

However wouldn't that setup push the entire body to the left when the suspension is pushed down over bumps? This effect would be increased with more lift due to increased angles right? Is there something I am missing here? school me oh wise ones :D....

No question is stupid--

And you are correct about the geometry of a " panhard bar"

So, what you do to try to eliminate the "bump steer" is try to make the steering link, or"drag link" and panhard bar as level as possible and parallel to each other. The 2 bars angle should match exactly.

The problem with getting them level, is this usually means a longer mounting bracket at each end, and, the longer it is the easier it is to snap off, so, it has to be beefed up for bracing and the space to do this is limited.

I have new links and ends, however my panhard bar bracket placement has become a challenge to be worked out

Watt's link.

I know, it was a joke, just seeing who would be confused or go research it. You guy's are sharp.

Love it, hope to wheel with it in the near future :) Keep photos coming

It's still weird to see that truck someplace besides my driveway. :)

Gangsta lean

Ok so new leaf springs and still the same. So, I swapped the front coils, side to side, and still the same.

Measuring from the rear leaf spring mount guide pin to the bump stop on each side I have 1" difference.

I plan on swapping the rear leafs side to side because this has to be where the lean comes from. From bumper end to bumper end is 1 3/4" difference.

Hub to hub measures dead on each side-I see no evidence of frame tweaking anywhere after making a few measurements.

WTF?

ummm Time for a Diet? :p:

What are you using as your reference point for measurements?

Mine did the same thing. I swapped front leafs and rear leafs side-to-side. Still gots the lean. :(

My 97 SAS had hard core gangster lean on left side, only way i cured it was little spacer lifting front driverside a little extra, i didnt like doing that but looked better. I think springs are soft and weight of a driver and gas tank on left side makes them lean extra to the left.

What are you using as your reference point for measurements?

The locating pin (nut) on top of rear leaf to bump stop on the frame above it. Driver side is 5.75" passenger side is 6.75"

Looking at it from behind or front it has quite a lean. This is with less than half tank of fuel and nobody in the truck

If I put a 3 inch block on the rear driver side and a 2 inch block on passenger side it would fix it I bet. I don't like the idea though

could you get a for instance 800# spring if the pass side is 750# and an add a leaf for the drivers side?

That would aleviate the block issue, that seems unsafe for some reason to block half the truck....:dunno:

Well, I connected the front sway bar --had to jack up the driver side to get the link on. It moved the driver side up a tad I think.

So, since I already had 2" lift blocks on the rear, I put a 3" block on the driver side leaf. It still has a bit of lean to it though.

I'm going to get some f150 leafs I think.
