don't believe the hype man. i think i know where you saw that one (i posted it to see if anyone would notice, and your the first to mention it, i thought someone would challenge...) my actual trap speeds are mid 90s, i am thinking i will run just about a 15.0 with my shift kit if i go back now and do the same degree of weight reduction/in the same weather conditions.

i think i would need a 347 or at least a different cam and tons of work to go over 100

ahhhh, knew you couldn't trick me;) but Damnit, I actually believed it though and was like you have one hell of a n/a Explorer.:D You still do though, I'm sure with the cam and other stuff and trapping in the 90's you could easily run a high 14 probably if you did a brake torque launch on your truck. Did your e-303 cam add a lumpier idle to your truck? Or did it change the sound and make it sound a little big blocky?

Then I thought 14.4 at 104mph? Damn, you must have some sick ass top end pull:D ;) At least your on your way to ls1 and dohc Cobra times.
 












the only vehicle i ever raced with my explorer was a 93 VW Passat. the kid bought one of those stupid electric fans off ebay (the ones that advertise "electric supercharger" :rolleyes: ). he thought this would actually make his car faster. i tried explaining how a turbo or supercharger works, but it was lost on him. i told him that fan wont create any boost pressure in the IM. it will just act as a restriction in the intake.
anyway, he said " i bet i can beat your mazda now" i said "i bet you cant even beat my explorer."
so we lined up. he flips the switch and i just about died laughing. it sounded like someone was vacuuming under the hood with a dustbuster. anyway, i blew past him off the line and kept getting further away. he was trying so hard, i almost felt bad. oh well. that's my kill list.

2 Dodge R/T's

Then I got smoked by a mid 90's Mustang LX that went 13.1

I can't wait to put on all my new goodies and see him again!
 






Owned an S-10 Xtreme... that's about it. Mods are in my sig but I don't have exhaust anymore!

You musta owned that Dodge R/T, I beat one at Morroso in the 5.0 Mounty. Same thing with a Civic Si up there that I beat. Suprised the hell outta them b/c the truck is stock.

When did you go up there? I wish I went last week. My friend went up there and said the highlight of the night was some guy who had a Chevelle LS6 that was smoking everyone it ran against. He said on one run the guy ran against a Viper GTS with some mods and killed the guy. He said it was a sick car, until he saw the street-legal Mustang run 8's:eek:

I wanna get up there one Saturday morning to watch the Ferrari's run on the track.

Oh yea I ran a best of 14.98 @ 92mph

Yes I've got pics of my truck. I just put new 18" Axis Vectors w/ 265/60 Falken Ziex's STZ/01 on a few days ago. I just need to upgrade to an Elite X so I can post them.
 


















About 2 months ago I was in PA and let Namity take my truck for a test drive (since his is a 97 sport lifted) and we pull up to this light and this riced out Jetta starts wailing on the gas, so I give Namity the nod and when the light turns green we both take off and you can hear the other guy trying his best, but as soon as Namity short shifted and chriped the tires going into 2nd the Jetta totally shut it down. I thought it was pretty funny, especially since at that time I had a worn clutch and my stock open 3.27s instead of the LS3.73.

Oh yeah, and last weekend I beat a new Sentra, may have been the SeR or whatever, but I never got a chance to see the back of his car. He had his GF in the front seat and starts reving his motor, so of course I come back, the light turns green, and just for effect I sit and smoke the tires before taking off (gotta love that move). Beat him off the line, kept going beat him to 60 by quite a distance and then I shut it down because of an upcomming light....he, on the other hand, did not, and in turn totally ran the light which I though was really stupid. Luckaly there were no cars around, but still, it was an unnessacary risk to take. I felt kind of stupid afterwards since if they would have wrecked I would have felt somewhat responsible. So yeah, take it out on the track instead I guess is the lesson.

(P.S. Chucky, this was going southbound on 107 about .5 mile north of the LIE going towards the Broadway Mall)

I live in Royal Palm Yacht Club, how far is that from you?

What kind of rims are those? They look awsome on an Explorer.

Matt's driven mine on backroads just after Lizard put my 2wd relay in...and so has x24, both can vouch for mmy truck, although DasFrem has actually kicked my butt in a stoplight race ;)

I've nailed a 99+ J**p Grand Cherokee limited three times in three miles, the guy just didn't know when to quit, lol.

FINALLY finally finally took on my archenemy in his lowered Blazer extreme...he has virtually all the same mods as me including the same exact paint scheme but blue and gray (frikkin copycat) and I can proudly say that I not only whupped his ass, but did so in front of all his ricer buddies, while lugging a 55 lb sub box and with leaky manifold O rings! And the check engine light was still on! Made my November! MWA HA HAA
 






yeh, I don't know why people think the 4.3 is a good engine and is fast. It's a friggen dog, yet people think there strong. A friend of my sisters had a new Blazer Sport and that thing could barley stay with my 94' 4dr, and the 4.3 has more power and torque than the 4.0, but it's a POS engine. She got rid of hers after constantly blowing head gaskets, engine replaced, faulty brakes and trans that would not shift (yet they said everything was fine:rolleyes:

If I was in the 5.0 Mounty, forget about it, I could throw it in 2nd gear and kill her off the line along with any other Blazer.

I haven't really raced anybody in a while aside from super putz and his blazer...from the side my X looks a lot like every other black X out there and no one ever challenges me :(

actually since your 5.0 doesn't have a real shift kit you probably are racing in second gear most of the time... i know mine only used 1st if i raced from a dead stop and that no matter how slowly i was rolling it wouldn't kick the whle way down.

besides, how would you deliberately throw it into 2nd? every ones an auto... also, imo the 4.3 is a pretty good motor. it is essentially a 350 with a couple of cylinders cut off and it has proven to be reliable in use for many vehicles as well as being able to support plenty of hp when modded and showing respectable stock numbers.
