Los Coyotes April 6,7,8

Hey shipwreck It should take 6-7 hours. Go the sameway that you did out to truckhaven Keep going south past truckhaven about 15-20 miles to higway 78 take that west. You should go about 35 miles until you get to highway S1 you will take a right go about 20 miles down that till it ends which is at highway 79 take a right there go about 5 miles and you will be at warners springs. Take a right at san anistio something if you get to the gas station you went about 200 yards to far. Take a right there go about 8 miles out from there you will come to the entrence to the reservation. If you come in at night no one will be there just drive in and pay the next morning go about 2-3 miles in from there and you will get to main campground. I assume thisis where we will be camping. If these directions don't make sence here is the info for los coyates reservation. Post Office Box 249...Warner Springs, California 92086
Phone (760) 782-0711 ---- Fax (760) 782-2701

Hope that helps

Matt

Hey shipwreck I gave you the wrong directions You need to take S2 DO NOT take S1 like I said earlier. Also as you are coming in on 78 you can follow the signs to Warners Springs. Since that is where the road out to the reservation is.

Matt

Alrighty! One step closer! Finally got a front end that works. Got an ARB to replace the lockwrong (it destroyed itself, the gears, and the bearing. It also attacked the carrier, but that guy was too strong for it.).

Only two more weeks to go!

Trail Ratings ?

I wanted to know the difficulty of these trails at Los Coyotes. I have done a majority of the "most difficult" runs in Big Bear, but how much harder/easier are these? Is there lots of tricky off-camber spots? I get queasy easy. Please inform.

The trails aren't to bad out there. Most of the really hard spots have bypasses around them. As far as being off camber its not to bad. We can spot you through any spots that get tippy. The good thing is since most of are vecicles are about the same size so just follow the line the person ahead of you took. It shouldn't be to bad.

One other thing when is everyone planning on being out there. I can be there eather Friday night or Saturday morning. I would like to camp friday and sat night is anyone else planning to do this.

Matt

I'm camping both nites, although I won't get there till about midnite Friday.

It is looking less likely that I will be able to make it out there this weekend...
I have lots o tech problems.......I will still try but it doesn't look too good right now

Sorry everyone

Thanx anyways for the info and help
Cody

alright..its getting closer. Just to verify any opens seats out there. I'd like to try some stuff with my truck, but at the same time it looks like most going are fairly modified, so i dont want to hold anyone up. Let me know, my dad wants to go and he's talking about taking out toy 4x4 out to give it a try. Its open front and rear. We'll see on that one. I dont think it will be ready by then. Thank you

I'll have an open seat, maybe two if needed (front passenger, and rear bench..)

Can't wait!

Sorry Jim, I'm heading down Thursday night after work (leaving here about 6pm). Got a stop at Perry's Fab&Fiber on friday in the afternoon to get new fenders installed, and then coming back to the bay area on monday morning, with a passenger (Ken's friend's wife) What make this schedule worse, is my aunt died down who lives down in Arroyo Grande, and I may be down there on wednesday/thursday, and heading on down from there.

If you goto maps.yahoo.com, and enter fremont, ca as the start, and warner springs, ca as the destination, you'll get driving instructions. They are accurate, and easy to follow. (basically, I5 to I210 to I15 south)

also will my stock rig make it? if i go this will be my firs real organized run.

Well, you should do fine. You'll possibly scrape a few times (but that's what skid plates are for).

I AM GOING

aw, too bad i cant go with you. but anyways....i am in.
how will i know its you guys when i get down there? and when is the best time? i am free 8 am friday to sunday 3pm. camping is cool for me.

Hey Jim if you want to follow me down you are more than welcome. I am coming from fresno so I have no idea if this is on your way or not though. I will be leaving here around 2:00 or 2:30 friday afternoon to head down. I plan on stopping in temmecula to pick up food and other stuff for the weekend. As far as finding us just look for the group of explorers and rangers out there.

Matt

hey rockranger where should i look for you at? freeways? or should we meet somewhere? i thnk you have to head down this way as I5 is a straight shoot to so cal

I will be leaving up here at about 2 or so I get out of class at fresno state at one so as soon as I can pack I will start heading down. I usually go down 99 south to the 58 west in bakersfield then take the 14 in mohave to the 138 in palmdale and take that to the 15 south and down. I go this way so I don't have to deal with LA traffic. Ridding by myself means no carpool lane and last place to be is LA on a friday. If you want eather e-mail me at offroader3@juno.com or give me a call (619) 254-1369 (cell) and we can work out a meeting place. it takes 6.5 to 7 hours to get to the reservation.

Matt

none of those look like freeways i would be taking.. i think we are to far apart. darnit! ok can antofe you guys give me good direction from :

Fremont, Ca 94536

The best I can do for directions is once you hit the 15 south take it to the hwy 79 south exit in temecula. get off there take a left under the freeway. At one of the gas stations in the next quarter mile or so top of on gas and any food that you need. Keep going straight and take hwy 79 south into warner springs. when you get into warner springs as when you see a gas station on your right the next road you make a left on. There are a bunch of tennis coarts that will be on the right. the road is san Ignatio or something like that. It is right after warner springs ranch. Once you make the left there you will go back about 10 miles or so till you come to the entrence to the reservation. Depending on what time you get there someone may or may not be there. If no one is there just drive on in. You will go about 2-3 miles past that and you will be at the camp ground there is a big water tank there that you will see it is made out of stone. There is camping spots to the left of the tank and also if you take a right at the tank there are some spots bak in there as well. We will be in there somewhere. I know this aren't the best directions but it about the best you can do with no signs. If you want I can meet you temmecula right off the 15 and we can caravan in from there. I plan on bing in temmecula about 8:00 or so. My cell phonenumber above works just about the whole way till I get to temmecula so you can reach me there if you have any questions.
