And just a heads up, I will be bringing all my diag test equipment (NGS, WDS, AllData, breakout box, ect) in case it is needed on the trails. I don't know if that kind of stuff has been needed before but alas, we shall have it available!

That is the honest truth right there, a routine axle replacement at Smorr turned into a nightmare requiring tools from most of the camp, even got to be the 1st to use one of Rick's bolt extractors lol
Will be looking for a cabin rental in town for our stay.
Unfortunately the EX wont be going. Wont have a tow rig or trailer by then. We will be looking for others to traverse easier trails with in the FJ Cruiser. We can run trails such as Fins & Things no problem, so will still be a lot of fun for us.
Looking forward to wheeling with some of you again, and meeting others for the first time.
I'll try to update this with where people are staying when they chime in;

Why do I have to live so far from MOAB? I started looking into the cost of this trip, and if I trailer in it will cost me nearly $1300 in gas just to get there and get home. Still gonna try to swing it, possibly by buying a lower mileage explorer that i would trust to make the drive.
That is true Randall, but hard to swallow the added gas when my tow rig gets 9mpgs with the trailer on fairly flat ground. I dont even want to think about how low it could go in CO
I'm still debating whether or not to foot the expense for purchasing a trailer and beefing up the Ram to tow Red to Moab or just take the Explorer.
Breakage 1300 miles from home is a pretty big issue, but probably not too likely considering my Explorer is running like a top. Hmm, decisions, decisions.

A couple years ago I towed a small tent trailer 1100 miles to and 1100 miles from and also ran;
Bukk Canyon
7 mile rim
Top of the World
Metal Masher
Cliff hanger
Steel Bender
Hell's Revenge
So you really shouldn't worry unless you're a 'point n stab' kind of driver
