It didn't do so well tonight the best it ran was a 16.02 at 84mph. It was about 90* at the track and they had sprayed a ton of traction compound all the way to the 1/8th mile mark for the motorcycles or something my dad couldn't hear exactly what they were saying over the loud speakers. It was like driving on glue. I did make some camaro's and corvette's feel bad though, I was beating them to half track and then I ran out of steam and they left me like I was standing still.
I took the front drive shaft out for the last 2 runs and lost about a tenth of a second on my time, thought some of you guys might find that interesting. I'll post more times and details in the morning after I get off from work.

So as you can see there really isn't much difference with and without the front drive shaft.

My first pass of the night 16.048 @84.01mph (timing advanced all the xcal would allow ~19* at idle)

2nd pass was 16.091 @83.76mph (same as first pass)

3rd pass was 16.028 @84.12mph ((timing all the way advanced, shift points as high as I could make them ~5300rpm)detailed times above)

4th pass 16.144 @ 83.68mph (timing where James had it set ~17* at idle)

5th pass 16.16 @ 83.41mph (shift points lower 3mph from original tune, timing bumped back up)

My 1st 2wd pass 16.17 @84.15mph (timing advanced, shift points raised)

2nd 2wd pass 16.110 @84.18mph ((same as 1st 2wd pass) detailed times above)

There was also a lot of breakage out there last night, I'm glad he broke the axle then and not down the track somewhere it could have been ugly for me

Interesting, very consistent, and good 60 foot times. It doesn't look like much is lost through the TC without the front shaft either.

Well it's good to know YOUR axles hung in there-

I was expecting quite a difference from the gear change. It had to be the heat.

Eric- try this next time you go. Get a cooler with ice in it and a large ziplock freezer bag, fill the bag with ice and attach it to your intake tube. Cost next to nothing and good for a little bit more on those hot days.

Sometimes you can see a 1/4 Trap speed that suggest theres more left. In this case it is what it is; however, I'm sure there is more left with a little tweaking.

The guy running the tree last night wasn't very consistent, sometimes he would wait for what seemed like forever to start, and on that run he started as soon as soon as I staged and it caught me off guard a little. I will admit though that my reaction times aren't the best and are one area that I need to work on

lol, to bad it was my only official kill unless you want to count 1/8th mile times then I beat an early 2000's z28 camaro twice, and a newer corvette once

I ran a 15.73@86mph with his tune
Then I put the stock tune on and it ran a 16.38@83mph
If that doesn't convince you how important a good tune is then I don't know what will.

Best run was 15.73@86.66mph
Worst run w/tune 15.82@85.99mph
Stock tune 16.38@83.81

This thread is motivating me to get some times for my truck. I am excited to see where I am at. I am thinking I will see a loss from my switch to 3.73 from 4.10. Hopefully a little less weight from the 2 door and a little extra motor power (if the cam even did anything, haha) will make for a similar time. I have got some tunes from James, and I know it made my truck faster. Great stuff!

Eric, you will probably be within one tenth of a second in 1/4 mile time. I swapped 3.73's in place of 3.27's in my Lincoln, and the change was less than a tenth. I gained a little before the 1/2 shift, and lost all of that at the beginning of the 2nd gear range. Gear changes don't usually help a bunch unless there was some problem beforehand in matching the power band to the car/trans etc.

Yeah, I didn't know notice much of anything from the gear swap. I picked up a little bit of low end, and lost some top end. I wouldn't do the swap again.
