I have an answer here! In the SCT custom tuning software you have to scale the displacement anytime you change the physical engine size(aka boring, stroking, etc). Second part of the problem is using a MAF adjuster is just a temporary fix for what is really needed (tuning). Not to start a large debate here but please hear me out. The most important tuning you can do in the software is your MAF transfer function. Now when you start "manipulating" the output voltage of the meter several problems will occur. First and foremost you will get low speed bucking and not only that you will get skewed load values. Just think of it like this, The MAF transfer funtion is seen in the computer several ways (ad counts,# mass tic, etc) but the main thing you need to make sure of is your voltage. You can take your voltage and with a formula calculate ad counts, #mass tic etc. One thing to note is that the meters range is only 0-5v,period! 5 volts being pegged,SCT only recommends running a meter within 80% of its range so that you have a safety factor built in. I will not make this a tuning session but there are other adjustments to make in the software to regain your driveability. If you like your cam then don't remove it! The cam is not your problem. Ford never designed the Ex to have cams and be a screamer they designed a grocery getter and I have been reminded of this everytime I opened up my tuning for my truck. (Values set lower in certain areas than Mustangs pcm, etc) If you have any questions just let me know. I never check this section so I haven't seen this post till it was brought to my attention. I only go in the sport trucks need for speed and modified explorer sections. Maybe I should get out more!LOL!!!!!!!!!!
