Well, I read the FAQ and am confused as hell. My housings are busted so I was going to pick up some cheapies at WalMart or AutoZone (I don;t normally do this, but explorer is going after winter). Now am I so naive that I believe I can take the new fog lights (which I am ASSumIng have one 12V and one Ground wire) and splice them with my factory ford fog lights (cut the bulbs off the 2(?) wires and splice those into new foglight wires) and still turn them on and off with the factory switch?

Yes you can do that and it will work.
Since you are useing Walmart type fogs the other ways of hooking up the lights really dont need to apply here. If you wanted the most performance(brightness) from the fogs useing a relay is the way to go.

I do want the most out of them, but I'm not trying to turn some $20 fog lights into PIAA/KC/HELLA's. need to figure out a way to mount them too, but think I have a good idea. Anyone buy any fogs from WalMart/Autozone? Which ones are the brightest? I honestly could not tell when my stock ones were on/off anyways :o

I got the Blazer Ion Fog Light ones. Installation was "creative". They work pretty good, but I think I aimed them poorly, if at all. You cn't really see the light in front of you while driving, but at lower speed you can notice the difference. Once I balance outthe front end some it'll probably work much better.

Not trying to take over the thread, but I'm in the same boat with my stock fog light housing cracking. I just picked up a couple of Walmart fogs, and I'm trying to figure out how to wire them with the relay. I don't want to use the original wiring in case I decide to put in other lights there later. I'm not worried about wiring them so they go off when the car turns off. I have everything figured out except how to power them. This might be a dumb question, but can I just hook the power wire straight to the battery, or is there something else I need to put in between the 15 amp fuse that comes with the kit and the battery? Thanks

Yes, you can hook the power wire straight to the battery.

hey I bought a couple of Piolt lights from Auto Zone not the samll small blue ones but "drving Lights" i had to buy a harness seperatly for them and they work fairly not Hella of PiAA quality but fair.
