I've got a 2000 Ford Ranger 4x4 and I'm thinking about a couple different ways to set this thing up. My truck is also my main truck, so it needs to be able to work just as nicely running around as it does running on trails.

My first thought was to do a Solid Axle Swap, 6" leaf lift with overload in back, and 35" tires. This would give me plenty of clearence, but I'm not sure how well it'll flex. Not to mention, because I don't know all the tech end of these things yet, I don't know what all goes into this sort of thing.

My other thought was a 4" superlift with coilovers, powertrax locker in the rear, and a lunchbox in the front, and sporting 33's. The major issue here is that superlift is rediculously priced LOL. They've basically got the market cornered on lifts for 98+ Rangers, so no way around that I guess.

Both options cost about the same if I take it to a shop to get it done.

Any insight would be appreciated.

I would get rid of the vacuum assist front axles.

Will that ditch the entire sla system?
