Of all things to go wrong, the tranny in my X bit the big one yesterday. There's no chance my X is going to make it to Moab this year. BUT, I'm not backing out! I'm going to borrow my dad's truck to get there and back, but this still leaves me with one probem. I can't wheel his F-250, so is there anyone outh there with a vaccant seat could I PLEASE bum a ride? I'll even pay for some gas!

See ya there. (thats me bumin' a ride)

Your welcome to ride along with me and my Dad. Just let me know.

I'll have an empty seat too. We can play musical chairs if you want ;)

BTW, I'm leaving Phoenix tomorrow. I'm going to camp in Flagstaff for a couple days then head up to Moab Thursday morning :D

Leaving in about 26 hours :bounce: I still have to pack, lol. Who's taking Char's place as spotter? I'm gonna miss that, she's probably the best spotter I've had :)

I just heard from Peter Weber. He tried his best to make this trip but it just won't work out, he can't come. :(

Mike I am real sorry to hear that. I don't think we'll have room for an extra rider, but you can still help me replace my right hub assembly, lol :D I think mine's going south - it whistles all the time now, and it's my original hub assembly.

See ya'll Thursday nite! :bounce: Moab Brewery, right?

Gerald,

We are going to have to drop one truck (Greg's Cherokee) from the make list. Greg will still be there, but riding with Doug. His clutch blew out and there is no time or money to get it working before we leave in the morning. So, look for three of us from Louisville, 2 Cherokees and a 92 Ex.

Sounds fine gl.

Do we need to change the CB channel in town to 2 or something so Bill can join in?

Yikes!

Leaving in less than 24 hours . . . . . still trying to remember if I got everything done on the list . . . . . Jefe's run into a couple of snags, but it looks like he's still good.

Glfredrick...

Be careful with that spring mod! If you dont get the spring tension and the right length that stub shaft will fall out of the diff. Also You have to tack weld the slip yoke grease cap to the stub shaft, otherwise the spring will pop it out.
Ask me how I know! hahaha well last time I was in Moab (last year) I was waiting for a custom axleshaft (1" longer than stock) that didn't get done in time, and I ended up doing Moab in 3wd, with the drivers hub locked only and no shaft on the pass side :)
I tested and tested my setup before I got to Moab and it held together all day long, then on the first trail...BAM came apart at the slip yoke :)

You need to pull the sway bar and flex that sucker out a few times with the locker engaged before you reach Moab and make sure you tack welded that cap on there at least!
Also alot of guys use a valve spring in there for tension...no no no much too stiff.

Last night RangerX came up and we rebuilt his shift motor (works like a charm now :)
and I see he got some custom leafs made over the weekend and eliminated 1 block. I know he has been scrambling to get the Ranger ready and he even rattle canned it again :) I must be rubbing off on him with my touch up painting! hahahaha

I got a package last night that takes up half the garage! Delivered my Bill to my door! We shall see if I can make it fit on the truck Wed night :)
All I gotta do now is bolt on some off road stuff and pack! We are headed out Thurs 6 am......

See you there! hahahahahahaha
Channel 2 when we get to town....
Jefe better make this one! It would be a shame to bend all those tubes and miss this because of UPS or some crap....

The only thing in my passenger seat is a 5 gallon tank of water, it's open to whomever needs or wants it as long as they dont mind getting the begeezus scared out of them when we are trying to follow the likes of Tdavis and Rick :) hahahaha

The Rig will be in Moab  . . . whether its out on the trails its been designed for is dependant on if I get a heavy package today :o
(or if someone has a D44 right-side milled & tapped flat-top knuckle they'd let me borrow for the weekend ;) )

No package for me today. :fire:

Damn, that sucks. Especially since I just happen to have a milled and tapped knuckle in my closet. Actually, I have two sets; one for an f250 (8 lug) and one set for a chevy d44 (6 bolt spindle). Maybe you can talk some one that is still going from TX to come to my apt. to get them. :|

overnight that sucker!

I know I have an empty passenger seat, Rick has a seat, and there will probably be several others.

As I tell people - I make my passengers do things - ie, they get to scream "We are going to dieeeeeeeeeeee!!"

:D

Why would anyone yell that when you are behind the wheel?

Give me an address in Moab and I might be able to arrange that!
Jefe, which side do you need? I assume that you need a chevy flat top? That's the one with the 6 bolt spindle.
