I have a 95 explorer that the overhead console died. I thought hmm I'll just try and use this fix:

no dice. my overhead is completely different. after a little snooping around in my console i found out one of the capacitors had bit the dust. its labeled 120uf 6.3V. New the probalbitility of finding one of those was slim, so at radioshack i found this:
they didnt have the capacitors in 120uf, they had 100 or 220. since you go go down in capacitors i went up.
on the far right is where the old one was and where the new on went in.
as you can see its a little larger than the old one but it works like a champ
