Well Brain started it. He was backwards engineering a 5R into an A4LD. His findings were promising. Now we have people wondering if we can backwards engineer the 55W and 55N into the 55E. (And finish what Brain started into the A4LD)

I love challenges. As I am getting into the 4R70W trannie, I am seeing folks backwards engineering the guts of it into the AOD! (An OLD trannie - pre electronic days)

I think there is much to be done and learned in backwards enginering the W and N (maybe the S) into the E. But I need help.

I can use PARTS. Or whole trannies.

When I do a diary, I usually buy a lot of parts, inspect and examine, disassemble and learn, find a lot of dead ends... so I can share that with you. I have more damn useless trannie parts laying around as a result......but the info you get is good!

If I am gonna carry on Brain's work, I am asking others with access to 55E's W's, N's (!) and S's to help me see what we can work backwards in these things.

Ok, done begging. I'd like to see what we can do with the 5R, but cannot do it alone. (Pathetic sounding reading back... but oh well....) We can make this a group project!

Sorry, no parts for anything even close to modern laying around here. The newest lawn ornament I have is an 89 A4LD.

Yard Iron?

Umm...yeah...Iron, aluminum, and rust. I keep stealing metric bolts out of it. :D Someday I will toss whats left.

We got rid of all the other old transmission parts and pieces that were laying behind the shop. I have never worked on anything as new as what Glacier needs though. Sorry buddy. I would send parts if I had any. :)

Ditto here, the newest trans parts I would have, are AOD parts. I've got old "C" and "B" OD servo parts, some locking rings, old reverse drums, etc. The new "A" servo parts that I have you are about to check about fitting into the 4R70W. Good luck,
