well the first real cold snap (3 deg. F/windchill of -8 deg. F) and this morning humble started with the bump of the key. I let him warm up for 10 minutes and hit the road. On the expressway climbing a decent grade i noticed a puff of smoke behind me and a oil sheen covering the back window.
Son of a ***** - now smoke billowing so i slowed down and pulled off at the i94 oasis and checked the oil. Not super low, but under the truck it was starting to look like an oil change without anything to drain into.
For the past few weeks it has had a bit of a leak around-ish the ream main seal - no biggie. Today i noticed fresh - wet oil underneath the lower intake - the very lower intake i changed the gasket on this past august. Then looking on the back side i notice fresh wet working its way down the transmission bell housing...
Of course this happens when it 1 degree outside. So now i am going to have to dump a quart a day in her till i get a garage to use in this cold and a day off to take it apart again.
