Kevin - Any luck at the Casino on the return trip? Figured thats where you stopped after "791 miles..."

Didn't even leave the parking spot except to drive off. I just thought it was better than a rest stop since it's a little further off the highway and has less road noise and it's got seperate RV and semi parking so you don't have the refer truck running next to you all night.

Wow Paul..... I would think you could straddle a wedgie by now LOL!

Yeah, screwed that one up pretty good - - just complacent having ran through Poison Spider about a half dozen times and not really working the correct line (obviously)

The doors were a recent project, still not quite finished (waiting on the interior door skins), so this was first trip with them. With canvas windows, it still rode well from Tacoma and back, road noise about the same as driving with the windows cracked open an inch or so... Kept the original doors for winter driving.

Would be great to wheel with you again - - Moab 2010?

I thought I would post some photos of the repaird track bar mount and also publicly thank Steve, the owner of Moab 4X4 Outpost who opened up the shop for me and got me fixed up.

He used a plasma cutter to blow off the old welds, and then burned them in really good. After that he added the two gussets, one on the back side to the engine crossmember and a second to the front at a 45 degree angle.

It's nice he put in those holes on the front gusset, it will be a good place to secure the chain when it rips off again :D

I guess since it was your engineering and labor that got me throught the rest of the trail you are allowed to crack jokes.

Okay, here are my pics.

This has to be my favorite of my son and his fear of heights on the lookout point on top of Golden Spike.

Kevin that's funny... there's so many places like that at Moab. I could never approach Top of the World's dropoff and crawled to its edge just like your son did there on Golden Spike LOL :)

Yeah, it's definately gonna be time by then. We was really planning for this year since it is our 5th anniversary of our wedding at Moab, but just could not pull it off. Next year, gotta make that up.

Whew, Ralph and I got home just in time for me to pack again and fly out for work. Had a great time like always. The weather wasn't as hot as last year, perfect for wheeling.

Kevin, when you breakum you breakum good. Glad the guy fixed you right this time. Looks bullet proof. Your son looks like a fine lad.

Paul. you got to hook me up with the person who did your doors. I'm willing to drive up to Washington and have them done. Do you think he'll make another set?

Dannyboy, you’re always welcome to stay with us. Great breakfast. Too bad we didn't get to eat the ribs. Next time.

Gary, putting the tarp on the j**p was quite an experience. 4 of us and we almost ended up going airborne. Great Wheeling with ya.

Steve, what can I say, we didn't get to wheel. Hope you fixed the problem on the beast.

The Bronco crew had their rigs looking great like always. Now if you guys can just fix the overheating problems you’ll be in great shape.

Gerald, you better make it next year.

Marshall, Brandon has all the makings of a paleontologist. Kid has a nose for fossils. Take him to Delta, Utah to dig for trilobites. If he wants any suggestions on reading material let me know. I’d love to tutor him.

I’m at the airport writing all this and I’m getting sleepy. I haven’t taken my afternoon nap.:D I’ll finish when I get back home.

Well, at least one of us got in on this deal. Allison was quite happy to see these unscathed and Monday night was a good dinner!

Looks and sounds like everyone had a good time, even the ones who had some carnage.

Did you guys camp? Stay at a hotel?

Great pictures! What was the smallest (lift/tires) set up out there?

Ok so I'm not the best at wheeling and taking pictures so we never end up with very many. My wife also read a 350 page novel on the trail over the weekend so she wasn't much help either. I had a lot of fun and it's always good to get out and wheel with friends both old and new. Oh and that climb on behind the rocks wasn't as hard as it looked ;) here is a pic of how not to go down it in the snow in a TJ  Well, I'm looking forward to next year and I'm also up for Moab anytime after september (too HOT in the summer) Danny I'll ask my friends if they have any pics of the X on upper heldorado for you ;) Everyone is in next time RIGHT!?

Maybee me with 35's and 4.5"

Well, shoot! That just ruined it for me..lol I dont think I could hang with you guys next year with my tiny 33" tires and only a couple of inches of suspension lift.:(

Unless.....the 94 EX goes thru some transformations by then...hehe.

Yeah, you might need some more lift. But there are all kinds of trails out there to have fun on, and many that can be done on 33's no problem. If it weren't for some locker problems, my dad would have been hangin well with us with 33's, 3 inch lift, in his 74 bronco.

Well, the last 2 posts have made me feel better already..lol! I would love to go, never been. I think the 95 is maxed out for mods right now. The 94 has some possibilities tho. I do believe I can get more lift for cheaper for it.

I'll be quite honest, we had an amazing fleet of guys from this forum on this trail run. There wasn't one truck that we had to "make an exception" for on any of the the trails. As a matter of fact, I looked through all the trucks on golden spike and realized these were in the class of "off the charts" on every one. Day two was just as good.

Moab is totally a place you can go have fun wth a stocker, rental jeep, hell, even a 1 ton dodge with a camper on the back :D, but the pics of the trucks in this group really were built to go beyond the trails we did. Not one truck needed a strap or winch that I can recall. Each truck had thousands of dollars in upgrades including lockers, solid axles, aftermarket transmissions, atlas transfer cases, winches etc to go on top of being lifted with bigger tires. Once we got to area BFE I started pointing the truck at rock faces that I thought "no way in hell this thing will go up this" but we'll give it a shot and guys spotting like mrboyle, Brian1 and 90ranajo walked my truck up on the first line picked. The irony is the fact that I commented earler that I'll let it all hang loose at BFE since I can get the tow rig back there and sure enough, I had problems. Anyone is welcome on our runs who shows up prepared and this year was perfect in my opinion. We didn't have as many trucks as in the past, but those who were there were ready to get after it.

I wouldn't go nucking futs out there anyways, since my rigs will be driven there. I would like to be able to do some skillful crawling, but nothing to treacherous that I cant get back home :)

Just going to watch you big guys would be a treat for me. Getting away from home, work, etc... is the fun in it for me, everything else is just a bonus. I could learn from watching, and seeing first hand is priceless.

I coud have swore Gerald ran his rig on 33s at one point out at Moab or was 35s from the onset.
