Ok this day completely sucked for me. thanks to everyone who showed up tho.

after hooking up at the outpost, we ran wolf's den first. (the easiest trail out there) I overheat. Not even 5 minutes on to the trail. My High Speed Electric fan decided to commit suicide on me. Great timeing. After stealing a transmission cooling fan from limitedEx's truck :D. We move on. And my battery light comes on.. and my truck wont stay in 4wd??!!?!? Abort Trail head out for lunch and repairs. Hose down everything. seems to be working fine. Head out and run dickeybell. 5 secs on the trail my battery light comes on again. wont stay in 4wd and my battery gauge is reading low. Well everything is working so we drive on. BAM overheating again. Abort the mission once again and return to the outpost. Decide to "Test" the alternator (the light has been on for three hours now and my gauge is reading almost at the bottom and the truck is hard to start ) test determines its the alt. so i start it back up and lee follows to me advance auto, the only thing around and open and i get rapped for an alt by them. I made it home after overheating 2 twice in traffic. Advance Auto swapped the dead fan for a new one no questions asked. (think it might have been the look on my face and the way i threw the fan on the counter). so i am back up again.

glad you got your junk fixed....i ended up just driving all the way home on 20psi.

oh yea...i didnt have any problems today ;)

Bummer you had so much trouble. Anybody get pics of the trails?

nope from me. i know the izusue (cant spell) got good ones so when they get done maybe i can get copies.

hell yeah that was a good time. my rig was having overheating problems also but fo me it was the thermostat so we took it out and cut out the actual valve and just ran thatlittle base plate to help restrict the flow a but but it ran like a champ on the way home. no other damage for me i ran everything except for daniel which isnt bad foran open diff this was the first time i got to run something like this and i was impressed with my trucks perfomance. on the way home my brother lost his steering goin 70 down i 85 so that was scary but we fixed and got him home safe, but not before he broke his clock spring. in the next few weeks i will have tons of pictures and videos i dont know how much we got of the other ex's because all we rode together was falls dam. i had a really good time it was awesome meeting all yall we'll have to do this again . you guys should come up tio hampton roads and we'll get boomin explorer to come play in the mud with us

hmmmm electric fan goes out then you have alternator issues?
Sounds like the alternator is/was being taxxed by that old fan!

the only pics i have so far are on this site http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showf...72895&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=14&fpart=1

a few pics down there is one of my brother coming over some rocks and you can see lee (slravene) in the back ground. then about half way down is me in the black ex about to come up the waterfall on lower dickey bell. and close to the bottom there is a pick of zhanex coming out of a mud hole. more will come this was just off my brothers camera

What?
I got mine built at CRS in charlotte. They cost me about 250, but i have an in with him so thats about 50-75 cheaper than the general public. I can MAYBE persuade him to offer you the same deal.

Again, fun as always
The ironic thing is that I was all concerned about getting out of there at a decent time to so I could make it to work, and then they ended up not even needing me....Ah well.

Congratulations on the new fan John! Hopefully we can make it one more time before your departure so I can try my Aussie locker, once it is installed...And test your new fan :p

haha well yall didnt miss much after you left except for the rain... all hell broke loose. but it made the trails fun the next morning. i had alot of fun i probably wont be back down there until the fall run sometime in sept or oct ill post a thread with the date as soon as i know. but we should all meet up agin that was hella fun im hoping that boomin will come this time since his truck is gonna be awesome when hes done with it in the next few weeks. even more awesome than it is already of course
