Rubicon, Summer 2005..

My son and I are planning on running the Con again, maybe this summer. I know that the Explorer group has never said no to any other type rig on a run. But, I have to ask. Will a J**P be welcome on this run? If so we are in, just tell us the dates. I do keep trying to get him to Upgrade

Jerry, I'm placing no restrictions on j**p's, other than they must submit to photos of them being tugged by an Explorer!

Tom this was an idea my son (THE J**P GUY) had about the up coming Rubicon run,

The posts on the board seem to indicate that the itinerary will look
something like this.

July 15th
Arrive in Placerville (Hotel)

July 16th
Placerville (Hotel) to Buck Island Lake

July 17th
Buck Island Lake to Look out Point and back to Buck Island Lake

July 18th
Buck Island Lake to Placerville (Hotel)

July 19th
Depart Placerville (Hotel) for home.

I was thinking that the trip from Buck Island Lake to Look out point and
Back to Buck Island Lake is rather long and we should add an extra day into
it.

ie
July 15th
Arrive in Placerville (Hotel)

July 16th
Placerville (Hotel) to Buck Island Lake

July 17th
Buck Island Lake to Look-Out Point

July 18th
Look-Out Point to Buck Island Lake

July 19th
Buck Island Lake to Placerville (Hotel)

July 20th
Depart Placerville (Hotel) for home.

This will allow us to go slower and enjoy the sites along the way (you know
the explorers that are breaking stuff etc..). We also wouldn't be rushed to
complete that section. And as you know the more vehicles that join us the
slower we will have to go.

Just a thought.

What do you think?

Now hold on a second. Was that a shot at you personally or us in general? I'm not so sure he deserves to be seen with us with thoughts like that. :p

I say lets ban him from all future Explorer events. The only Heep allowed with us from now on is the BROTHER OF JEFE. :D

I really don't want to camp at Lookout point...

Day 1 - Loon Lake to Buck Island Lake, setup camp.
Day 2 - Up Cadillac Hill, back to Buck Island Lake.
Day 3 - Buck Island Lake back to Loon Lake.
I still like this schedule.

You still call him your son? :D

I think the masses have spoken. The Rubicon always has the potential to make any run a nightmare, no matter how well you are prepared.

I'm personally for the 3 day trip. The people who have spoken up in wanting to go appear to have the well equipped vehicles needed to keep this schedule.

Besides, like Brian K, I really don't want to camp at the Lookout point.

Ok, I just found another date I'll be on the 'con...

June 24/25/26. I'll be meeting up with crew from TrailTough.

July is coming up fast! Do we have a firm date? I just read thru the thread, and I'm not sure if there's a date set.
