I see...

You know what? You can just leave me out there...

...Not much new yet but I did pick up a new PAC-200 amp Mobile Relay and Battery Isolator for $49.95 locally today...:D

QSSNMipoZFOGBxxJ0CWFkzKUHI40NeXO-ii9OVzAIH4CqBxsm-ONXOI26XYfQDKzE-Uib-WTLjD-rgrZxjrcRO0whKYlvi37j9diD9Ry33Hri3nn45jcRhYNx3WVQ3pPgLMa-KRrOa8hFAbKCx3ry-q7XUM

...Locally everyone wanted $79 bucks but they can be found on the net for even cheaper than what I paid for it...

...I was also told that the Pac -200 and the Stinger sr200 battery isolator relay are made by the same company and are the same product, minus Stingers flashy decal...

...I also scored a new set of battery jumper cables for free from a customer that I may hack up and use for the wiring..:hammer:

...Scott...Here is an answer on a tent for trucks with a camper...

..I think you have to purchase the whole camper but I think it would be cool if it was just a unit that you could attach to a shell or an Explorer with a ladder like Froaders...

That's a FlipPac. They were in production in the '80s, and after a long hiatus, they are now in production again. FlipPac

They are in Riverside.

I've thought about getting one (it would replace my entire shell) but they are fairly expensive.

Adventure Trailers also sells them.

...Picked up YellowTop number 2 today and got a killer price too...:biggthump...I just need to find a pos battery for a core..

...Spent the rest of the afternoon digging out the fridge and actually plugging it in with the new cord I had purchased to the cigarette lighter (made for it) and trying it out for about a half hour...It worked..:D

...I also went over to the Trasharoo guys shop to check out his complete dual battery system including solar set up on his truck...You got to see his trailer....His truck is way beyond mine at this point but it let me get some more ideas for the future...:hammer:

...I have not done much as I all of a sudden got busy with work and this trip begins this Sunday for me...This doesn't leave me much time with my work schedule to get any mod's done or to purchase more stuff I need...:(

Updates

...Let's see......I went to "King of the Hammers" and was able to try out a few items out there...

GoPro camera worked great in the X and I got to learn how to run it/upload/ and edit with my new netbook but, I can't find a suction cup for it locally...Anyone close know of a place or one I can borrow, please hit me up//"biggthump

Netbook worked great with it's long battery life..

Converter..I bought another one just for the KOH trip...It's a 200 watt (by I forget)and it worked great for recharging the battery and the GoPro..This will be the "portable in the cab" or take in my X converter...

More stuff

...On the way home I picked up a hitch from DB1 :salute: and then drove straight to Deaver (famous for leaf springs) and had them make me up some U-bolts for the Ranger but that's for my other thread..

...While I was out of town for work I was able to think a little more clearly on what I need for this trip...Better and more storage..

..I shopped online for action packer's and figured with their various sizes and shown on Walmart.com and Target.com I could easily find them when I get home...Not..:thumbdwn:

...I couldn't find an action packer locally to me to save my life...I seen REI.com had some of them listed but they wanted like 40% more than anyone else...

...After shopping a few Wally World's and Targets', I went to every store I can think of for storage containers while I was also looking into using ice chest for the task ...Finally, I ran across these...They are not heavy duty as an action packer or a cooler but they are about a quarter of the price and the size should work out perfect for the Ranger...I scored them for $20@ at Biglots..:D

...While I was shopping around I kept an eye open for a camp stove seeing the prices went up about $20 for them after Xmas..

..I also found a Hi-Tek brand camping 2 burner 12,000/24,000 btu stove with the side wings on sale at Big 5 for $39 bucks..It doesn't have a self igniter but I may go back and get it...Should fit my camp kitchen but I need to dig it out of the pile to find out..:dunno:

....I have a ton of last minute things to do this weekend and I will post up as much as I can..

I ran into the same situation a few years back, I guess someone thinks Californian's don't use action Packers. I ended up getting one in Moab of '07, plenty in stock at the auto parts store. I almost bought 2 but I was already loaded down with gear.

...I'm running into the same thing...:(

...I can find them in AZ., CO., and Utah but not in Cali...Been searching Expedition Portal and it's the same thing..I am kind of surprised with this search for them but I wanted to find a certain size and cheaper is better in this case..

...I figured them as throw aways and hope for the best...These are not bad for the price and I hope the plastic will hold up to the dry heat and not get brittle and crack after a couple trips..

...There is a big Expedition meet up in AZ the first week of April and there will be a bunch of Action Packers and Sceptor cans for sale there...

Keeper, thanks for the offer but I'm already committed to these and I leave town Sunday..:salute:

...Well then check the PX out for sizes and prices as they sure don't have them around here anymore...

..It would be great to have someone who can get a hold of some...:biggthump

I have been tossing around the idea of going to that. Probably wont but I'm sure it would be fun.

I cant go into a store around here without tripping on Action Packers, they are everywhere. Ace had a ton of them in the isles today when I had to pickup some bolts. Need any imported? :p:

In the newest Overland Journal there is a buyers guide to storage bins. Action Packers are not rated that good, the Pelican cases won. I think I will be keeping my Action Packers, I like them too much:thumbsup:

.....Oh, that's right...You had my number in your last X...:p:

..PM being sent and we should try to get another run up the Main Divide Rd. around June and see about camping this time too..;)

...Brian, now you know most people can't afford to buy Pelican's and they hold there prices pretty well when they are being sold as used.....Action Packers seem reasonable for what they are...

..I never thought about Ace hardware so I might look there locally too just to see if we have them here...

The "Overlanding" crowd are know for spending lots of money on things - if it doesn't cost enough, it obviously can't be very good. They have to have the right look when they take their Land Rovers to the mall.

I like to call those people gear queers. We see those people in the military, have to have the latest most highspeed gear that they never use.

Ted, OSH carry's some of the action packers, just not the really big ones. I ordered my huge one from Target.com years ago.
