Sweet!! That looks like what my truck can handle. :p: I need to grab some more lights for the night run, currently mine aren't hooked up. I also need to get my butt in gear and install the new shackles :D.

There is plenty there to do.

i drove that rig last year as did Zukman, it worked very good, and others like it will find great trails as well as some challenges ,
Not all trail rigs have to run big tires..

I just have to find a decent set of 31's. My 29's are perfect for economy which is what I will be using the most, but I want the 31's when I head out to wheel. The smaller tires are cheaper and I am not too crazy about their tread pattern for off roading. But even if I can't find 31's, I'll still be out there. Maybe I can catch a ride on the Bigdawgs run. I hear that's quite a rush. :D

MrQ,

Can you fit 32"x10.5" under? If your going to get a set of tires just for wheeling, I would go as big as I could get away with. Whats your gearing?

I am sure there will be an open seat in someones rig for those who can't wheel. Great thing about this meet, is there is MORE than just wheeling going on! So everybody is going to have a good time regardless of their rig status.

p.s.--there is another member heading this way from TX...he just might hook you up with a seat...lol

Does a 32X10.5 exist?
Actually come to think of it thats what Jason has on his since their 265/75/16's.
I think MrQ had 3.73's.

Hey just wanted to post up that, though I'll miss Moab, I'm shooting for this. Gotta break in my new setup in style

So....Are you wanting on one of the attending lists?

I think this would qualify you as being on the "Farthest away" attending list :D

Yep, got an open seat and a fellow Texan is more than welcome to run shotgun.

Well I've been to Ouray the last couple years, and though that place is amazing, i need a change in scenery. At the moment I'm a maybe, as I don't know what I'm going to be able to get off work. In my industry, I usually can't get guaranteed time off until a week or two before. Is there a limit of addendees on this trip like Moab?

I am going to be running the 3.73's. What I am concerned about is if I run a set that large that I will kill my gas mileage driving to SMORR. Its about $270 in gas to get up there and back estimating at 18mpg. I am considering using one of those hitch mounted cargo carriers if I run the 29's on the highway and 32's on the trail, but I dunno how that's gonna work out. Also, I only have a 2" lift on the truck...will I have problem stuffing those?? I am also considering a Aussie in the front diff...have to take it apart anyway to do the c-clip mod.

Also..32's are freaking expensive... unless someone here can hook me up with a good deal on a used set. If I can get a good set mounted on rims I would glad pay $300...best I can do, my budget is on a part time salary.

Unclemike,

I am looking forward to seeing your rig in person. I have been following your thread since its inception and I really like what you have been doing to it. Hopefully, I can catch a quick ride in it on the Bigdawg run. :D

Should be fine with 32". Wont be super strong, but will work. 4.10's would work better though if you could swing it. If your going to be changing gears, might as well go big :)

I doubt you will see much of a difference in mpg from 32", compared to 31". Your gearing will offset the tire size with 4.10 also. I get 19mpg/hwy in my 95 with 4.56 & 33".

Your not going to save any gas or increase your mpg carrying all that weight either. Just bring one or the other & a full size spare.

Also, I only have a 2" lift on the truck...will I have problem stuffing those??
2" suspension lift right? I would throw a 2" or 3" body lift on it and run 32" or 33" all day easy. I run a new set of 31" BF T/A with no rubbing whatsoever on just a 2" suspension lift, no body lift on my 94.

hmm, I might drive myself out of Texas with Mr. Q that weekend just to watch/ hang out, I won't be wheeling. I've always been an avid camper/ backpacker so I would be thrilled just to escape into the country. I'll be in summer school during that time so I won't know if I will be able to commit until a week or two before the event. But if I show up I will be more than happy to help be a spotter/ group photographer!

hmm... this would also be a chance to log good mpg data on my ex to test out the mpg mods Ima gona be making the next couple weeks....

I'm a maybe (spectator)!

Hey, an extra set of hands and eyes never hurts!

If you guys could swing it, C'mon up on the Thursday before, and join us for dinner and entertainment that evening in Springfield. Only a 30 min drive to Smorr in the morning that way, and we will have all day to set up camp, and get some trails in early. Plus we will all go out for B-fast on the way out.

:salute:

Thanks Mr. Q. I have been following the Red Flyer thread and am looking forward to seeing it. You have done a hell of a lot of work on it. I am gonna to hope I can do the Big Dawg run, I will still be running on 31's but have a good amount of lift. So will play it by ear.

HitchhikingMike,

More Texans the better!!
Looking forward to put faces to rigs and sign-in names. I can always rearrange my cargo area to open up another seat.

Thanks for the offer.

This is definitely a priority for me right now. I've never been formally off roading before. I've always enjoyed pulling up all the other pictures and videos on the forum from other meet-ups.

I'll be sure to find out early in the semester from my professors what dates all my exams will be on so as to try and work around this date block.

Perhaps If everything goes well the three of us (Texans) can rendezvous up somewhere around the DFW area.

Also, I'm going to be meeting up in a couple weeks with Mr. Q to help get his 4x4 tranny all buckled and fastened up in his rig in time!

EDIT: something was mentioned about radios. I am a licensed ham radio operator and can bring my mobile hq radio with a mag mount of needed.

If any one has a build going or major things they are doing to there rigs that will be coming to Smorr post a little link in here so others are aware and can see what all is going on. I will start.

B2Guys Best build yet, to be done for SMORR...and many more after....
